Incheon City launches consulting services to improve quality management at social welfare institutions
The Incheon Metropolitan City Public Agency for Social Service has begun offering quality management consulting for local social welfare institutions as part of the city’s ongoing efforts to strengthen public services.
Originally launched in 2021 as a management consulting project, the program expanded last year to include quality management, helping facilities improve operations and service delivery.
This year, seven institutions have been selected, including three group homes, two social welfare centers, and centers supporting senior employment and migrant women.The consulting will run from June through November.
Incheon City recruits youth supporters to promote Camp Market
Incheon Metropolitan City is now accepting applications for the 7th class of Campfire, a group of youth supporters who will help promote Camp Market to the public.The application deadline is June 30.
Campfire is made up of young people from Incheon who work together to raise awareness of Camp Market and help renew the image of the place as a vibrant public space.The name symbolizes the collective passion of citizens coming together—like a blazing fire.
The 7th class will officially begin their activities with a launch ceremony on July 12 and continue through September 27.
Incheon holds “Incheon Love, Child Love” original song contest for young children
Incheon Metropolitan City has announced a new song contest called “Incheon Love, Child Love,” designed to promote a positive sense of community and deepen local pride.
The contest is open to kindergartens, daycare centers, and families with infants and young children across the city. Anyone may participate.
Judging and copyright screening will take place in July, with the winning entries to be announced in mid-August.

Incheon education office agrees to subscription refund for unused digital textbooks
The Incheon Metropolitan City Office of Education has reached an agreement with AI digital textbook providers to refund subscription fees for March and April, when the textbooks were not actively used. This decision reflects the challenges schools faced in fully adopting the new digital system during the early stage.
The education office, along with other metropolitan superintendents in the Seoul Capital Area, proposed the refund, citing the time required for administrative procedures—a proposal the publishers ultimately accepted.
Amid growing concerns over the higher cost of digital textbooks compared to printed ones, this refund is seen as a meaningful step toward more responsible and efficient budget use.
Incheon delivers eco-friendly cooling kits to seniors living alone
The Environmental Corporation of Incheon and the Incheon Jung-gu Volunteer Center have delivered eco-friendly cooling kits to 110 elderly residents living alone in Jung-gu District.
The initiative was organized to help vulnerable seniors stay safe and healthy during the summer heat by providing practical supplies to prevent heat-related illnesses.
Each cooling kit includes 12 essential items designed for daily use,with a focus on heat wave response and infectious disease prevention.
Incheon’s Yeonsu-gu completes road improvement project on Hanjin-ro
Yeonsu-gu has completed a two-month infrastructure improvement projectalong Hanjin-ro to enhance pedestrian and traffic safety for local residents.
The project, funded by 300 million won from the district budget, was launched to address traffic congestion and commuting challenges caused by a newly built apartment complex and the construction of the nearby Songdo Neighborhood Park.
District officials expect the improvements to significantly ease pedestrian access and improve overall convenience for residents in the area.
