Incheon to Recruit Trainees for 2026 Rural Education Farm Teacher Program
The Incheon Agricultural Technology Center announced it will begin accepting applications on January 19th for the 2026 Rural Education Farm Teacher Training Program. Rural education farms represent an advanced form of experiential farms, offering regular, school-linked rural experience programs that make use of agricultural and rural resources. The training will be held over two weeks, from February 3rd to the 12th, at the Incheon Agricultural Technology Center. The program will consist of six sessions, three each for basic and advanced courses.
Park Gyuwon to Give Lecture on Joseon Filmmakers in Shanghai at Immigration Museum
The Museum of Korean Emigration History, a branch of the Incheon Metropolitan City Museum, will host a special lecture by author Park Gyu-won in connection with the exhibition Joseon Filmmakers of Shanghai’s Golden Age. The lecture will explore the lives and works of Joseon artists who fled to China during the Japanese colonial period and helped usher in the golden age of Shanghai cinema in the 1930s. Park Gyuwon, a descendant of renowned Joseon actor Kim Yeom and author of the bestseller Shanghai Old Days, will share the dramatic life of Kim Yeom and the independence movement led by the Gwangsan Kim family that shaped his spiritual and artistic worldview.
Incheon Institute: Boosting Urban Competitiveness Through the Experience Economy
The Incheon Institute has released the findings of its study titled “Vision and Strategies for Activating Experience-Based Industries.” The study calls for the strategic development of experience-based industries that create added value by offering high-quality experiences built on Incheon’s unique local assets, including its history, culture, landscape, and lifestyle. It found Incheon’s experience-based industries are growing faster than the national average, with strong potential in areas such as beauty and food within lifestyle consumer goods, creative arts in culture, sports services in leisure and recreation, and face-to-face services such as restaurants and retail.
Comprehensive Briefing on SME Support Programs to Be Held This Year
The Incheon Regional Office of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced it will hold a briefing on support programs for local small and medium-sized businesses and self-employed owners. The “2026 Comprehensive Briefing on SME Support Programs” will take place at 2 p.m. on Jan. 15th at the main auditorium of the Incheon SME Office and will cover key policies across areas including financing and guarantees, exports, R&D, and startup support, as well as public procurement systems and workforce policies from related agencies. A series of on-site briefings will also be held from the 21st through February 27th at district offices, universities, and industry associations across Incheon, focusing on businesses located in each area.
Incheon Urban History Museum Offers Vacation Program for Elementary Students
The Incheon Urban History Museum, a branch of the Incheon Metropolitan City Museum, announced it will run a winter vacation education program for elementary school students. Titled Exploring Incheon Beyond the Classroom, the program is linked to the elementary social studies curriculum and is designed to provide an at-a-glance look at Incheon’s development, from its origins and changes before and after the port-opening period to the present day. The program combines solid theoretical instruction by museum education specialists with exhibition tours and hands-on activities, including creating a “mini Incheon,” to enhance learning outcomes.
Incheon Library to Run Humanities Lecture Series
Incheon Metropolitan City Public Library will operate the “2026 Tolerance Humanities and Social Sciences Lecture Series” to foster humanities literacy and social insight among the general public. Launched in 2021 in cooperation with the Center for International Area Studies at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, the program offers practical global knowledge through topics spanning the world and local communities, history and contemporary issues. This year’s series consists of six courses totaling 18 sessions, covering continental history and economic trends as well as culture and the arts.
