Incheon Seeks Early-Stage Startups To Lead Tourism Industry


Incheon Metropolitan City and the Incheon Tourism Organization will conduct a public call for the “2026 Incheon Tourism Startups” program. Recruitment will last through April 17 to discover and support promising early-stage tourism startups in the region. The program targets tourism startups established within the past seven years as well as prospective entrepreneurs, and recruitment will be divided into six categories according to growth stage and characteristics. Following a first-round document screening and a second-round presentation evaluation, approximately 15 companies will be finally selected, with results to be announced in early May.





Incheon Agricultural Tech Center Conducts Farm Machinery Repair Education


The Incheon Agricultural Technology Center will conduct a “visiting farm machinery repair and education service” for island and remote villages ahead of the busy farming season. This year’s program will run nine times from March 16 to April 7, focusing on island areas such as Muui-dong in Jung-gu and other regions located far from repair facilities. Through machinery repair services and safe operation training, the center aims to support smooth farming activities and resolve farmers’ inconvenience caused by equipment breakdowns.





60% Of IoT Installation Costs To Be Supported For Class 4 & 5 Emission Facilities


Incheon Metropolitan City will support small-scale businesses installing IoT monitoring devices this year. The 2026 Support Project for IoT Monitoring Device Installation aims to ease the burden on small-scale businesses and systematically manage air emission sources ahead of the required installation due date. IoT measurement devices are systems equipped with sensors and communication functions to monitor electricity, temperature, and differential pressure at air emission and pollution control facilities, enabling remote verification of proper operation. Installation became mandatory following the 2022 revision of the Clean Air Conservation Act, requiring Class 4 and 5 air emission facilities to complete installation by December 2026. With a total project budget of approximately 2.4 billion won, selected businesses will receive support covering 60% of installation costs.





Incheon Operates Weekend Family Program ‘Prehistoric Play!’


The Geomdan Prehistory Museum will operate a weekend family education program called “Prehistoric Play!” for the new 2026 school semester. The program is designed to help children and families learn about prehistoric artifacts and explore the prehistoric era at the museum in an engaging way. During the first half of the year, from March to June, participants will create their own prehistoric-themed coffee-ground mood lamps using recycled household waste materials through upcycling crafts. In the second half, from September to December, additional hands-on prehistoric craft experiences using various techniques will be offered.





Incheon Holds Report Meeting On Successful Maritime Court Attraction


A public briefing session has been held by Incheon Metropolitan City to mark the successful attraction of the Maritime & International Commercial Court. The event was attended by local National Assembly members, officials from the pan-citizen movement committee for attracting the court to Incheon, and representatives from the port, logistics, and legal sectors. The city expressed expectations that when the court opens in March 2028, visits by domestic and international litigants and increased demand for legal services will create high value-added jobs and revitalize the local economy.





Incheon Conducts Financial Education For Foreign Residents


Incheon Metropolitan City has held a financial education session for foreign students as part of efforts to create a foreigner-friendly environment and advance as a global city. The session was held on March 3, at the auditorium of Cheongwoon University’s Incheon campus, in cooperation with Shinhan Bank. Approximately 169,000 foreign residents currently live in Incheon. It is the fourth-largest foreign resident population among cities nationwide. According to data from the Financial Supervisory Service, while financial crimes targeting Korean nationals have decreased due to strengthened crackdowns, crimes targeting foreign residents in Korea are on the rise. In November of last year, Incheon signed a mutual cooperation agreement with financial institutions including Shinhan Bank and NH NongHyup Bank to improve living conditions for foreigners in pursuit of becoming a global top-ten city, and has been promoting financial education for foreign residents through public-private collaboration.
