Incheon to encourage payment from habitual high-value delinquent taxpayers before public disclosure


Incheon Metropolitan City will send advance notices to 1,147 individuals who have failed to pay more than 10 million won in local taxes or administrative fines for over a year, ahead of publicly disclosing their names. Among the individuals, 1,024 are delinquent on local taxes totaling 84.8 billion won, while 123 individuals owe a collective 44.5 billion won in administrative penalties and charges. The city plans to provide a six-month period for explanation and encourage payment of overdue amounts.





Foreign residents protest exclusion from toll-free Cheongna Haneul Bridge policy


Complaints are mounting from foreign residents who have been excluded from Cheongna Haneul Bridge’s toll exemptions. The bridge, also known as the 3rd Land Bridge, opened in January. Foreigners have been excluded from the toll exemption because exemptions currently only apply to those whose registered address under Korea’s Resident Registration Act is in Incheon. This limit in scope has effectively excluded foreign nationals. The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority explained it is reviewing ways to expand eligibility, as administrative and institutional limitations prevented their inclusion. 





International-standard RC car track opens in Songdo, Incheon


A completion ceremony has been held for the new international-standard RC car racetrack which finished construction at Songdo Dalbit Park. According to the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority, the 20,000-square-meter facility was built with a total investment of 3.5 billion won, and features an on-road circuit that meets international competition standards set by the International Federation of Model Auto Racing (IFMAR). The venue will operate as a public experience space during regular times, while a separate system will be put in place during international competitions.





Incheon offers 40% discount on city tour buses for ‘Travel Month 2026’


Incheon Metropolitan City and the Incheon Tourism Organization have announced a 40% discount on the circular Incheon City Tour bus from April 1 to 12. The promotion is part of “Travel Month 2026,” and aims to help visitors explore Incheon’s major attractions more conveniently and affordably during the spring travel season. With the discount, tickets for the circular route can be purchased at 40% off the regular price.





Incheon to outsource Small Business Unfair Trade Damage Consultation Center


Incheon Metropolitan City has announced plans to outsource the operation of its “Small Business Unfair Trade Damage Consultation Center” to a private organization. Accordingly, the city will publicly recruit a qualified operator for the center. The initiative aims to provide more systematic support for small business owners affected by unfair trade practices, while enhancing the speed and professionalism of consultations and assistance. Previously operated by the Incheon Credit Guarantee Foundation, the move comes as cases of unfair trade have become more diverse and require greater legal expertise.





Incheon launches 2026 Youth Policy Network to boost youth participation


The “2026 Incheon Youth Policy Network” has launched at the Teum Cultural Creation Zone in Michuhol-gu, marking the start of youth-led policy governance activities. Out of 160 applicants recruited starting January 29, a total of 118 participants who completed policy training were selected as final members. Through the end of this year, the members will engage in various activities through five divisions: employment and entrepreneurship, housing and welfare, culture and arts, participation and rights, and climate and environment.
