Bupyeong-gu Launches Safe Alley Project for Children


Incheon’s Bupyeong-gu will implement the “Making Safe Alleys for Our Children” project targeting areas near Dongsu Elementary School and other crime and accident-prone areas. The project was selected as a finalist in Incheon Metropolitan City’s public competition for the “2026 Safety Facility Installation Project.” It has secured 100 million won in funding to proceed. The project sites include the area around Dongsu Elementary School and Jangje-ro 38-beon-gil, with the district planning to complete the project within this year.





Jung-gu Designated Unsold Housing Management Area for 2nd Month


Incheon’s Jung-gu has been designated as an area subject to management of unsold housing for the second consecutive month. The designation comes with an increase in the number of unsold apartment units in Yeongjong International City, and will require developers in Jung-gu to undergo a preliminary screening to obtain project financing guarantees until May 9, according to the Korea Housing & Urban Guarantee Corporation (HUG). Along with Jung-gu, Icheon and Yangju in Gyeonggi Province also received the designation this month with HUG citing concerns over the rising number of unsold homes and a slow resolution of the issue in these areas. 




Eco-Friendly Urban Gardens Open in Songdo


Eco-friendly “Ieum Community Gardens” have opened in Songdo International City. The gardens, operated without chemical fertilizers or pesticides, include 330 individual plots and 30 community plots. They aim to promote urban agriculture while encouraging community interaction and connection with nature.





Incheon Launches Campaign Against Voice Phishing


Incheon Metropolitan CIty has conducted a public campaign at Incheon Grand Park to prevent damage from telecommunications financial fraud. The city announced that relevant organizations, including the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency, the Incheon Branch of the Financial Supervisory Service, and Nonghyup, participated in this campaign which was held alongside the 11th Disaster Safety Exhibition for Citizens. Visitors were educated on common scam methods and prevention strategies through videos and informational materials. Also, prevention leaflets and promotional materials were distributed, helping to strengthen citizens’ capabilities in preventing and responding to financial fraud. 




Incheon Regional Skills Competition to Run April 6–10


Incheon Metropolitan City will host the 11th Incheon Regional Skills Competition from April 6 to 10 across 10 venues, including Bupyeong Technical High School. About 250 participants will compete in 37 trades. Winners will advance to the national competition scheduled for August in Songdo.





Forest Healing Programs Begin at Yeonhui Neighborhood Park


Incheon will operate forest healing programs at Yeonhui Neighborhood Park from April through November. Forest healing programs are designed to promote mental and physical well-being through nature-based activities. This year, the forest healing programs will be operated as “Forest of Hope” for adults and “Forest of Fulfillment” for families.





Career AI Report Certification Challenge Launched for Incheon Students


The Incheon Office of Education has launched an “Career AI Report Certification Challenge” for the first semester. Running through June 30, the program helps elementary, middle and high-school students to systematically explore career paths using “Career AI Report,” which provides an AI-based analysis of students’ career activities and recommends suitable jobs and elective subjects. To participate in the challenge, students can visit the Incheon Cyber ​​Career Education Center website and take the Career AI Aptitude Test and perform career exploration activities. They can then upload and submit the generated Career AI Report to the submission page on the same platform. 





Incheon Holds Medical Tourism Briefings in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan


Incheon Metropolitan City has held medical tourism briefings in Astana, Kazakhstan, and Tashkent, Uzbekistan, securing 25 memorandums of understanding (MOUs). Working with the Incheon Tourism Organization, the city organized 831 business consultations through its public-private network, “Team Medical Incheon.” Nine medical institutions, including Gachon University Gil Medical Center, Catholic University Incheon St. Mary’s Hospital, and Inha University Hospital, participated in the event, showcasing advanced treatment technologies and customized medical services.
