Ongjin-gun Releases 300,000 Black Seabream off Daecheong Island

Ongjin-gun has released 300,000 juvenile black seabream near Seonjin Port on Daecheong Island as part of efforts to enhance marine resources and revitalize the local fishing economy.

The black seabream released in this initiative are high-quality juveniles measuring over 5 cm in total length, bred for four months at the county's Marine Seed Research Institute.

To maximize their survival rate, the fish underwent and passed rigorous infectious disease screening by the city.

The waters around Daecheong Island, known for their rocky seabed and extensive seagrass beds, provide an ideal habitat for young fish. County officials said they will continue strengthening their in-house fish seed production and release programs in the future.
