AI-powered urban monitoring to operate at Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival
The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority (IFEZ) will operate an artificial intelligence (AI)-based urban monitoring service during the upcoming Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival.
The Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival will be held at Songdo Moonlight Festival Park for three days starting July 31.
IFEZ plans to use a self-developed AI-powered Integrated Crowd Risk Monitoring Solution to help manage the safety of more than 100,000 festivalgoers.
The AI system will predict potential risks before the event and provide real-time monitoring and response support throughout the festival.
Following this pilot operation, IFEZ plans to expand its AI-powered urban management services to other areas, including transportation, disaster response, the environment, and energy.
Incheon provides drinking water to jjokbang residents amid heatwave
Incheon Metropolitan CIty has distributed 2,340 bottles of 500-milliliter drinking water to 207 households, or 244 residents, living in jjokbang, or tiny single-room accommodations, in Jemulpo-gu, Bupyeong-gu, and Gyeyang-gu to help prevent heat-related illnesses during the ongoing heat wave.
The city drew up the support measure to help elderly jjokbang residents stay hydrated during extreme heat.
It is also regularly distributing donated heat-wave relief supplies, including heat-response kits, nutritional supplements, food, and cooling pads, through the Incheon Jjokbang Counseling Center.
Since June, the city has also been working with district governments and the counseling center to provide outreach visits, free health checkups, cooling supplies, and cooling shelters for jjokbang residents.
Incheon to recruit preliminary social enterprises for 2nd round selection
Incheon Metropolitan City will accept applications for the second round of its 2026 Incheon-style Preliminary Social Enterprise Designation Program from August 3 to 21.
Launched under the city's ninth elected administration, the program aims to identify and foster innovative enterprises that provide essential social services and create sustainable jobs.
Corporations and organizations based in Incheon that meet the eligibility requirements as of the application announcement date may apply.
Applications must be submitted online through the Korea Social Enterprise Promotion Agency's Integrated Business Management System.
Incheon launches public contest for housing welfare policy ideas
Incheon Metropolitan City is launching the 2026 Incheon Housing Welfare Policy Idea Contest to discover practical housing welfare policies that reflect citizens' diverse perspectives.
The contest is open to anyone interested in housing welfare in Incheon, with entries accepted from individuals only.
Applications will be accepted from July 27 through August 10.
Interested participants can download the application form from the Metropolitan Housing Welfare Center's website and submit it by email.
Suggested topics include improving the delivery system for housing information for vulnerable groups, customized housing welfare services, promotion and education, proposals for Incheon-specific housing welfare initiatives, and housing safety and support models tailored to different demographic groups, including single-person households, children, young adults, and older adults.
Incheon to launch immersive 3D mapping showing city's past and present
Incheon Metropolitan City is moving ahead with a next-generation science-based administrative service that utilizes cutting-edge drone technology-based ultra-high-resolution immersive 3D spatial maps.
The city said it will operate an immersive 3D mapping service based on high-capacity spatial data collected through precision drone surveys, and is working on a new service that will allow users to compare how the city has changed over the years.
By systematically building and managing annual 3D spatial data, the city expects to enable precise virtual analysis without on-site inspections in areas such as urban landscape reviews, disaster prevention and response, and environmental monitoring, while also improving administrative efficiency.
