Incheon’s Cheongna to Host Triathlon on September 13
The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority will hold a triathlon in Cheongna International City on September 13.
Around 500 participants are expected to take part in the event, which will consist of a 1.5-kilometer swim, a 40-kilometer cycling course and a 10-kilometer run.
The authority said some roads around Cheongna Lake Park may be subject to traffic restrictions from 7 to 11 a.m. on the day of the race.
On September 12, the day before the triathlon, an RC car competition and other hands-on activities will be held at Cheongna Lake Park’s Water Plaza from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Next Year’s Living Wage Set at 12,630 Won per Hour Increasing 5. 1%
Incheon Metropolitan City has set next year’s living wage at 12,630 won per hour.
The amount is an increase of 620 won, or 5.1 percent, from this year’s living wage of 12,010 won.
It is also 18 percent higher than the central government’s minimum wage of 10,700 won set for next year.
The living wage applies to workers who directly perform city-related work at Incheon Metropolitan City, its public corporations and agencies, investment-funded and affiliated institutions, and organizations entrusted with city operations.
Incheon enacted its living wage ordinance in 2015 and began applying the system in 2017, gradually expanding the scope of workers covered.

Incheon to Double Transitional Housing for People with Mental Illness
Incheon Metropolitan City said it will double the number of transitional housing units for people with mental illness to help prevent social isolation and support their independent living.
The transitional housing provides both residential space and tailored support services to help people with mental illness who wish to live independently move out of institutional settings and settle safely in the community.
The city plans to expand the program from the current four units to eight and recruit new residents from September 15 through October 14.
People with mental illness aged 19 to 70 who reside in Incheon are eligible to apply.

642 Public Parking Lots to Open for Free During Chuseok Holiday
Incheon Metropolitan City will open a total of 642 locations, including public parking lots and parking facilities at public institutions free of charge during the Chuseok holiday.
The measure aims to make it easier for visitors returning to their hometowns to find parking and help ease parking shortages in the city.
The basic free-parking period will run for four days, from September 24 to 27.
In particular, 24 public parking lots directly operated by the city will extend free operations by one day before and after the holiday, from September 23 to 28, for a total of six days. Detailed information is available on the Incheon Facilities Corporation website.

Incheon Launches Integrity Campaign with Partner Organizations Ahead of Chuseok
Incheon Metropolitan City has launched a large-scale joint campaign with related organizations to promote a fair and transparent culture of integrity throughout the community ahead of the Chuseok holiday.
As the holiday season is a period when corruption risks can increase, the campaign was organized to demonstrate the public sector’s commitment to preventing corruption and encourage citizens to embrace the value of integrity in their daily lives.
Representatives from participating organizations distributed informational leaflets to residents on their morning commute, explaining key provisions of the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act and protections available to public-interest whistleblowers.
They also called on citizens to actively participate in efforts to build a fairer society.

Incheon to Hold Career Fair for International Organizations
Incheon Metropolitan City will hold the 19th International Organization Career Fair 2026 at the auditorium of G-Tower in Songdo on September 16.
Now in its 19th year, the academy has been revamped to reflect changing recruitment trends at international organizations and help young people establish concrete career paths.
Moving beyond simply providing recruitment information, the program will focus on real-world experience and firsthand success stories to help participants identify their strengths and apply them on the global stage.
