하늘을 무대로 활약하는 드론이 우리 일상과 가까워지고 있다. 세계적인 기술력을 보유하며 미래산업에 성큼 다가선 인천은 ‘2023년 드론 실증도시 구축사업’에 선정되기도 하며 UAM 개발부터 시민 드론 교육, 해양·대기 오염 대응까지 드론의 활동 영역을 넓히고 있다.
Drones that fill the sky are becoming increasingly prevalent in our daily lives. Incheon, which has world-class technology and has moved one step closer to the future industry, has been chosen for the '2023 Drone Demonstration City Development Project,' which is broadening the scope of drone applications from UAM development to drone training for citizens and response to marine and air pollution.

지역 특성에 맞는 드론 활용 실증을 지원하는 사업이다. 올해 전국 40개 지자체가 지원했으며 인천을 포함한 15개 지자체가 최종 선정됐다.

Drone, Becoming a Light in Everyday Life
전국 최초 ‘야간관광 특화도시,’ 인천 송도의 밤하늘이 빛을 품은 드론으로 가득 찼다. 지난 5월, 드론 500대와 수상 드론 등을 활용한 ‘올 나이츠 인천(all nights INCHEON) 멀티미디어 드론쇼’를 송도센트럴파크에서 개최했다. 첫날엔 ADB 연차총회 개최에 맞춰 환영 메시지를 전했고, 이외에도 인천의 역사와 매력을 품은 다양한 드론 쇼를 선보였다. 같은 달 17일부터 4일간 열린 드론 박람회와 연계한 드론 공연도 진행했다.
한국 드론의 기술력과 우수성을 확인할 수 있는 ‘2023 대한민국 드론·UAM 박람회’는 국토교통부와 인천시가 공동 개최한 박람회다. ‘드론·UAM으로 바꾸는 새로운 일상, 드론 교통·배송, 레저스포츠’라는 주제로 심포지엄, 팸투어, 세미나 등을 진행했다. 해당 박람회를 통해 인천시는 모빌리티 혁명인 드론·UAM의 최적지임을 입증했다.
Drones embracing light filled the night sky of Songdo, Incheon, the nation's first 'night tour city.' Last May, the 'all nights INCHEON Multimedia Drone Show' at Songdo Central Park featured 500 drones and water drones. On the first day, a welcoming message was presented in conjunction with the start of the ADB Annual Meeting, and several drone displays depicting the history and charm of Incheon were held. A drone performance was also held with the Drone Expo, which ran for four days beginning May 17.
The '2023 Korea Drone UAM Expo,' showcased Korean drones' technological prowess and brilliance, was co-hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Incheon. Symposiums, familiarization tours, and seminars were held on the theme of 'New Daily Life by Drones and UAM, Drone Transportation and Delivery, and Leisure Sports.' Incheon demonstrated at the expo that it is the finest location for drones and UAMs, a mobility revolution.
인천 드론 사업, 미래가 아닌 현실로
Incheon Drone Business, Now, Not Tomorrow
인천시는 2017년부터 공공서비스 분야에 드론을 활용한 시범사업을 구축해왔다. 해안가·야산 등에서 실종자를 수색하고, 산불 감시활동, 농경지 불법소각 단속, 화재진압 등 다양한 상황에 드론을 활용했다. 사회문제의 새로운 해결책으로 드론이라는 첨단기술이 떠오른 것이다.
뒤이어, 인천시는 드론 전문 기업인 ‘숨비’와 파브(PAV) 개발사업에 손을 맞잡았다. 2025년까지 100㎏급 CAV(Cargo Air Vehicle)를 통해 인천항을 중심으로 화물 운송에 나설 예정이다. 고질적인 문제인 해양쓰레기 관리에도 드론이 힘을 보탠다. 해양쓰레기 정화선을 최적 경로로 운행하게 되면 탄소중립 실현에도 도움이 된다. 또한 인천시는 드론으로 수집한 공공데이터를 중앙집중화하는 드론데이터센터를 구축하고, 시민 대상 드론 교육을 진행하는 등 ‘일상 속 가까운 드론’을 실현하고 있다.
Incheon has been developing a drone pilot project in the public sector since 2017. Drones were employed in a variety of situations, including the search for missing people along the coast and hills, the monitoring of forest fires, the crackdown on illegal farmland burning, and the suppression of fires. Drones, a cutting-edge technology, have emerged as a new answer to social concerns.
Then, Incheon collaborated with Soombi, a drone startup, on the PAV development project. 100kg class CAVs (Cargo Air Vehicles) will be deployed to transport cargo centered on Incheon Port by 2025. Drones are also assisting in the management of marine litter, which is a persistent issue. Operating marine litter cleanup vessels on the most efficient path will contribute to carbon neutrality. Furthermore, Incheon is implementing 'drones in everyday life' by constructing a drone data center that centralizes public data collected by drones and educating citizens about drones.
