Songdo, Incheon, was unusually busy in October. Songdo ConvensiA hosted the 29th Korea Business Expo in Incheon,
which was attended by 1,000 Korean businesspeople from 58 countries, over 100 overseas buyers from 17 countries, and 434 domestic export companies.
Incheon, the starting point of Korean emigration and a gateway to the global economy, has become a symbolic stage that reconnects the Korean business network, which has spread across the world, through this expo.
10월의 인천 송도는 유난히 분주했다.
제29차 세계한인경제인대회가 열린 송도컨벤시아에는 58개국 1,000여 명의 한인 경제인과 17개국 100여 명의 해외바이어 그리고 434개 국내 수출기업이 한자리에 모였다.
한국 이민의 출발지이자 글로벌 경제의 관문 도시인 인천은 이번 대회를 통해 세계 곳곳으로 뻗어 있는 한민족 경제 네트워크를 다시 하나로 잇는 상징적인 무대가 되었다.

SUBSTANTIVE RESULTS OF
‘2025 KOREA BUSINESS EXPO INCHEON’
현장에서 피어난 실질적 성과,
‘2025 Korea Business Expo Incheon’
‘2025 Korea Business Expo Incheon’ was the main highlight of this event.
The export consultation expo held from October 28 to 29 achieved notable business results, including a total of 3,909 consultations valued at USD 290 million (about KRW 428.8 billion). Specifically, 88 companies in Incheon conducted 1,085 consultations worth USD 21.06 million (roughly KRW 30.2 billion). Incheon’s key business sectors, such as K-Food, beauty, environmentally friendly materials, and advanced technology, attracted strong interest from buyers.
이번 대회의 중심에는 ‘2025 Korea Business Expo Incheon’이 있었다.
10월28일부터 29일까지 열린 이 수출상담 박람회는 총 3,909건의 상담과 2억 9천만 달러(약 4,288억 원) 규모의 실질적 비즈니스 성과를 달성했다. 특히 인천지역 88개사는 1,085건의 상담, 2,106만 달러(약 302억 원)의 성과를 기록했다. K-푸드, 뷰티, 친환경 소재, 첨단 기술 등 인천의 전략 산업군이 바이어들의 높은 관심을 받았다.
Actual contracts and MOUs were signed on site. AnyLock Co., Ltd. signed a USD 420,000 export MOU with Lihao Footwear Co. Ltd. in Shenyang, China, and Sunbong Food Co., Ltd. signed a USD 150,000 supplier contract with a Japanese buyer, Geosan Japan Co., Ltd. Consultation booths that filled the expo space demonstrated the true meaning of the ‘field-oriented business event’ through the voices explaining and interpreting products and handshakes.
현장에서는 실제 계약과 업무협약 체결이 이어졌다. ㈜애니락은 중국 선양 Lihao Footwear Co. Ltd와 42만 달러 규모의 수출 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했으며 ㈜선봉식품은 일본 바이어 거산재팬㈜와 15만 달러 규모의 공급계약을 체결했다. 박람회장을 가득 메운 상담 부스에서는 제품을 설명하는 목소리와 통역사의 말, 그리고 악수를 나누는 손끝에서 ‘현장형 경제행사’의 진정한 의미가 전해졌다.
COOPERATION PLATFORM ESTABLISHED BY THE CITY AND INDUSTRY
도시와 산업이 함께 빚는 협력의 무대
During the expo, Incheon showcased its role as an international city that combines industry, culture, and tourism. Sixty-five members of World-OKTA visited BRILS Co., Ltd., JLT Co., Ltd., Incheon’s robot automation companies, and Incheon Global Campus to see firsthand the innovative environment that merges industry with global education.
인천시는 행사 기간 동안 산업과 문화, 관광이 어우러진 복합형 국제도시의 면모를 보여주었다. 월드옥타 회원 65명은 인천의 로봇 자동화 기업인 ㈜브릴스와 ㈜제이엘티, 그리고 인천글로벌캠퍼스를 방문해 산업과 글로벌 교육이 공존하는 혁신 환경을 직접 체험했다.
Additionally, the participants enjoyed the rest provided by Incheon’s sea and islands during the two-day Ganghwado-Yeongjongdo Wellness Tour, and the Korean dance performance by the Incheon Metropolitan City Dance Theatre on the final day of the expo powerfully showcased Incheon’s identity that blends tradition and modernity.
또한 2일간 진행된 강화도‧영종도 웰니스 투어에서는 참가자들이 인천의 바다와 섬이 선사하는 휴식의 시간을 가졌고, 대회 마지막 날 열린 인천시립무용단의 한국무용 공연은 전통과 현대가 조화를 이루는 인천의 정체성을 감각적으로 보여주었다.
The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority held a dedicated investment briefing to showcase Incheon’s advanced industrial ecosystem and global investment environment, aiming to attract the attention of buyers and companies attending the event.
인천경제자유구역청은 별도의 투자유치설명회를 열어 인천의 첨단산업 생태계와 글로벌 투자환경을 소개하며 행사에 참여한 바이어들과 기업들의 발길을 끌었다.

Although the number of overseas buyers declined compared to the previous expo (the 28th Korea Business Expo in Vienna, Austria), and the total consultations were roughly down, this expo received high marks for a significant increase in meaningful consultations focused on SMEs, demonstrating characteristics of a domestically held expo.
비록 전년도(제28차 오스트리아 비엔나) 대비 해외 바이어 수가 줄어 전체 상담액은 다소 감소했지만, 국내 개최 특성상 중소기업 중심의 실질 상담이 대폭 확대되었다는 점에서 이번 행사는 높은 평가를 받았다.
INCHEON, HEADING TO THE WORLD AGAIN
인천, 다시 세계를 향하다.
This expo showcased Incheon’s global competitiveness on the world stage beyond just a business event. Songdo’s advanced MICE infrastructure, the logistics network connecting Incheon International Airport and Incheon Port, the Incheon Free Economic Zone, and the start-up ecosystem all demonstrate that Incheon is developing into a ‘business hub city.’
Based on this, Incheon was chosen as the host for the World Korean Business Convention for the third time, following the 8th in 2009, the 17th in 2018, and the 24th in 2026. The return of the World Korean Business Convention signifies that Incheon is the hub of the global Korean business network.
이번 대회는 단순한 경제행사를 넘어, 인천의 글로벌 경쟁력을 세계 무대에 각인시킨 자리였다. 송도의 첨단 MICE인프라, 인천국제공항과 항만을 잇는 물류 네트워크, 경제자유구역과 스타트업 생태계는 인천이 ‘비즈니스 허브 도시’로 도약하고 있음을 보여준다.
이러한 기반 위에서 인천은 2009년(제8차), 2018년(제17차)에 이어 세 번째로 2026년 제24차 세계한상대회 개최지로 선정되었다. 세 번째 한상대회의 귀환은 글로벌 한민족 경제 네트워크의 중심이 다시 인천임을 의미한다.

‘재외동포 인천 방문의 해’,
다시 고향으로 돌아오는 길
In May 2023, Incheon hosted the Overseas Koreans Agency and opened the Overseas Koreans Welcome Center, which directly manages efforts to strengthen the network with seven million overseas Koreans. The center warmly welcomes overseas Koreans visiting their motherland. It offers various activities, including comprehensive information, special courses in the Korean language and cultural experiences, specialized exhibitions and events, and a business center.
인천은 2023년 5월 재외동포청을 인천에 유치하고, 700만 재외동포와의 네트워크를 강화하기 위해 재외동포웰컴센터를 개소해 직접 운영하고 있다. 이 센터는 본국을 찾는 재외동포를 따뜻하게 맞이하며, 통합정보 제공, 한국어 특별강좌 및 문화체험 프로그램 운영, 특화 전시‧행사 개최, 비즈니스센터 운영 등 다양한 활동을 펼치고 있다.
In particular, it became a place for active exchange, visited by over 1,000 people each month, through active promotion and expanding exchanges. The Overseas Koreans Welcome Center functions as a platform for communication and cooperation, enabling overseas Koreans to experience Korea’s present and explore its future potential, beyond simply serving as a guide space.
특히 적극적인 홍보와 교류 확대로 매월 1,000명 이상이 방문하는 활발한 교류의 장으로 자리매김했다. 재외동포웰컴센터는 단순한 안내 공간을 넘어, 재외동포가 한국의 현재를 체험하고 미래의 가능성을 함께 모색하는 소통과 협력의 플랫폼으로 기능하고 있다.
Additionally, Incheon designated 2025- 2026 as ‘Year of Overseas Koreans’ Exchange and Visit,’ offering various benefits to seven million overseas Koreans to reconnect with the homeland’s culture. Incheon, the ‘starting point of emigration,’ is becoming a city where overseas Koreans return, stay, and engage with the world again, evolving into a global hub city with a sense of memory and future vision.
또한 인천시는 2025-2026년을 ‘재외동포 방문의 해’로 지정하고, 전 세계 700만 재외동포가 고향의 문화를 다시 경험할 수 있는 다양한 방문 혜택을 제공하고 있다. ‘이민의 출발지 인천’은 이제 재외동포가 돌아와 머물고, 다시 세계로 나아가는 도시, 그리고 과거의 기억과 미래의 비전이 공존하는 글로벌 허브도시로 거듭나고 있다.
