With its striking, avant-garde architecture that seems to turn conventional design upside down, Tri-bowl instantly commands attention. Nestled amid the lush greenery of Songdo Central Park and framed by towering skyscrapers, it serves as both an iconic landmark of Songdo International City and a vibrant cultural complex.
Each year, Tri-bowl plays host to diverse performances spanning classical music, traditional Korean arts, and jazz. This past May, the venue launched a classical music festival, offering residents and visitors a fresh cultural escape. Jin Liuyi went in person to experience the special event.
천장과 바닥이 뒤집힌 듯한 독특한 건축물이 시선을 사로잡는다. 뒤편으로는 송도센터럴파크의 푸른 녹지가 펼쳐지고, 주변으로 높은 빌딩 숲이 어우러져 이색적인 풍광을 연출한다. 송도국제도시의 랜드마크이자 복합문화공간인 트라이보울이다.
트라이보울에서는 매년 클래식, 국악, 재즈 등 다양한 장르의 기획공연이 열린다. 올해 5월에는 클래식 페스티벌을 개최해 새로운 문화향유의 기회를 선사했다. 이 특별한 현장을 김유이 씨가 찾았다.
ENJOYING ART IN THE HEART OF THE CITY
도심에서 예술을 누리다
Jin Liuyi, who continues to serve in an active role as a member of the Incheon Global Supporters this year, visited Tri-bowl for this exclusive feature. Tri-bowl’s structure consists of three rounded, bowl-shaped volumes seamlessly connected by fluid curves. A shallow reflecting pool beneath the building accentuates its dramatic silhouette, making the entire venue look like a sculpture floating within Songdo’s ultra-modern cityscape. Before the curtain rose, Jin spent time admiring the exterior and taking photographs.
작년에 이어 올해도 인천 글로벌 홍보단으로 활동하게 된 김유이 씨. 그녀가 이번에 방문한 곳은 트라이보울이다.
트라이보울은 아래가 좁고 위가 넓은 둥그런 형태 세 개가 부드러운 곡면으로 연결된 모습이다. 건물 하부는 회백색 콘크리트로 매끄럽게 마감됐고, 상부는 짙은 은회색 알루미늄 패널로 덮여 있다. 건물 아래에는 사각 형태의 연못이 있어 웅장한 실루엣이 물에 반영돼 신비로운 느낌을 더한다. 건물 자체가 하나의 예술 작품처럼 느껴지며, 송도의 현대적이고 세련된 도시 풍경과도 조화롭게 어우러진다. 이 아름다움에 푹 빠진 그녀는 공연을 관람하기 전에 외관을 감상하고 사진을 찍으며 시간을 보냈다.
“Songdo is one of my favorite areas in Incheon because of its beautifully planned urban environment,” Jin shared. “Tri-bowl is easily one of the city’s most recognizable landmarks, so I was thrilled to finally explore its interior during this concert.”

IMMERSED IN MOVING MELODIES
감동적인 선율을 감상하다
Tri-bowl’s performance hall is relatively intimate, fostering a close connection between the audience and the musicians. As the melodies swelled within the serene, focused atmosphere, audience members found themselves swept up in the performance. The acoustics of the space are exceptionally crisp, delivering the delicate nuances of each composition with absolute clarity.
트라이보울 공연장의 규모는 크지 않다. 그 때문에 오히려 연주자들의 음악과 감정을 더 가까이에서 느낄 수 있다. 차분한 분위기 속에서 아름다운 선율이 고조되자 관객들의 몰입감이 더 깊어진다. 공간의 울림은 선율의 작은 부분까지 세심하게 전달한다
“Back when I lived in Shanghai, I used to attend classical concerts quite often, but since moving to Korea, those opportunities have been much harder to come by,” Jin noted. “That made this concert feel incredibly special and nostalgic for me. I also really appreciated the spoken introductions to each piece; they gave context that made me feel as if I had stepped directly into the scenes the music was describing.”
"중국 상하이에 있을 때는 클래식 음악을 자주 들었는데, 한국에 온 이후로는 빈도가 많이 줄었습니다. 그래서 이번 연주회 감상이 더욱 행복하게 느껴졌어요. 곡에 대한 설명도 들을 수 있었는데, 마치 음악 속 장면으로 직접 들어간 기분이었습니다."
After her tour of Tri-bowl, Jin recommended another cultural landmark famous for its breathtaking architecture: the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing. Featuring a massive, ultra-modern dome that appears to float on an artificial lake, she described it as a place where architecture and performance live in perfect harmony—much like Incheon’s own Tri-bowl.
트라이보울을 둘러본 김유이 씨는 인천 시민들에게도 독특한 건축미를 자랑하는 중국의 문화시설을 한 곳을 추천했다. 바로 베이징에 있는 국가대극원이다. 거대한 돔 형태의 건축물이 물 위에 떠 있는 모습으로, 트라이보울처럼 건축과 예술이 완벽하게 조화를 이룬다고 소개했다.
SHARING THE INCHEON SHE EXPERIENCED FIRSTHAND
직접 경험한 인천을 공유하다
“I believe Incheon becomes more diverse and appealing the more you explore it,” Jin says. “Many foreigners still think of it simply as a city with an airport, which is such a shame. By sharing the Incheon I’ve experienced firsthand, I hope more people will stop seeing it as a place they merely pass through, and start viewing it as a destination where they can stay, unpack, and truly explore.”
“인천은 경험할수록 다채로워지는 도시라고 생각합니다. 하지만 대부분의 외국인은 이곳을 단순히 공항이 있는 도시로만 여기는 것 같아 아쉽습니다. 제가 경험한 인천을 소개하고 알려, 스쳐 지나가는 도시가 아니라 머물며 여행하는 도시로 기억되길 바랍니다.”
It is this exact passion that drives Jin to continue her work with the Incheon Global Supporters. This year, she aims to introduce Incheon’s culture and lifestyle through the perspective of a foreign resident. Rather than just listing basic tourist information, she focuses on immersive storytelling, weaving the unique atmosphere of each location and her own personal impressions into her content.
Incheon is a rare city where the sea, urban life, deep-rooted tradition, and cutting-edge modern culture coexist in perfect harmony. Supported by a rich tapestry of cultural programming and world-class tourism infrastructure, Jin remains enthusiastic about championing the city’s multifaceted charm—reminding us that every district holds a distinct atmosphere and an entirely new experience waiting to be discovered.

올해는 조금 더 외국인의 시선으로 인천의 문화와 라이프스타일을 소개하고자 한다. 단순히 관광 정보를 전달하는 걸 넘어, 현장의 분위기와 자신의 감정 등을 자연스럽게 콘텐츠에 담아내고 있다.
바다와 도시, 전통과 현대 문화가 자연스럽게 공존하는 도시, 인천. 김유이 씨는 지역마다 각기 다른 분위기와 새로움을 발견할 수 있고, 문화 콘텐츠와 관광 인프라도 잘 갖춰진 인천의 매력을 열심히 홍보하겠다고 당찬 포부를 밝혔다.
