Philippines soft tennis Team Wraps Their Incheon Training in Success

-Through advanced training system of Incheon, the team promoted their competency that will be foundation to become the world's best -


○ The Philippines soft tennis team, who is this year’s third beneficiary of “OCA-Incheon Vision 2014 Program”, has wrapped up their onsite training in Incheon in success. The “OCA-Incheon Vision 2014 Program” is a legacy of Asian Games Incheon 2014 and a program to support the underdog nations in Asia.
 

○ Incheon Metropolitan City (Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok) announced that seven athletes from the Philippines soft tennis team delegation arrived on August 8 to finish their two week training in Incheon on invitation-basis. The city added the with the delegation’s successful completion of the onsite training, they will move to Anseong to compete in the 2017 Incheon Korea Cup Soft Tennis Tournament after having a ceremony on August 22.
 

○ Incheon Sports Council’s Soft Tennis Coach Park Mun-kyu was designated the role of the delegation’s onsite training partner and coach. It was said that each and every athlete on the delegation had their competency promoted with the comprehensive group technique training.
 
 

○ In particular, the athletes commented that the professional sports exercise prescription examination and sports consulting received through the athletic performance improvement program at the Nam-gu Community Health Center was extremely helpful.
 

○ Also, the cultural painting experience session held in Incheon Intangible Education Center offered the athletes the time to get a hands-on experience of the Korean culture and traditional beauty. Each athlete made their own traditional jewel box on which they painted with their own style. In addition, they experienced the Korean cultural housing, which offered them intimate cultural experience on Korea.
 

○ Giovanni Bernard Mamawal, the Philippines soft tennis coach, said, “We are so grateful for the opportunity to get an onsite training in Korea; we surely do want to come back again.”
 

○ The related official said, “Vision 2014 Program is receiving positive feedback from the international sports field, and it is serving excellent role in bridging Incheon to each and every country in Asia.” He added, “We will put efforts into balanced improvement in Asia sports and into promoting the brand value of Incheon City.”
