○ OCA-Incheon Vision 2014 Program, the legacy business of Incheon 2014 Asian Games and an aids program for the less privileged countries in sports, has successfully completed the Incheon onsite training for the archery team from Thailand, the second beneficiary of the program this year.

○ Incheon Metropolitan City announced that 7 national archery players from Thailand arrived in Incheon on May 14 and completed all their 15 day of Incheon-invited onsite training. They added that the team will return to their home country on May 28 after getting a certificate.

○ This onsite training partner and supervision were all lead by Coach Lee Sun-young of the Incheon National University archery team. It has been evaluated that the concentrated team technique training has uplifted the performance of the Thai archery team.

○ In particular, through the performance promotion program held at Incheon Sports Science Center, the team has went through professional sports therapy test and sports consulting; the team responded with gratitude that these have helped them a lot in setting the goals and direction for future training.

○ In addition, the traditional roof tile coloring session held at Incheon Intangible Cultural Properties Training Center offered the athletes hands on experience of the Korean style and beauty. Each athlete was able to color their own roof tile and an eco-bag. They also experienced the traditional housing to get themselves more familiar with Korea.

○ Thailand’s archery team coach Swi Srisong said, “It was a great honor to partake in Vision 2014 Program, which is globally reputable, and the program has helpd our athletes greatly,” adding, “We have been greatly impressed by the excellent sports facilities and cutting edge training system.”

○ The city official said, “The Vision 2014 Program is acclaimed by the international sports communities, and it is serving as a great bridge that connects Incheon with other countries in Asia,” adding, “we will continue our commitment towards the balanced development in Asian sports and towards promoting the brand value of Incheon.”
