Green light is given to creating robot industry cluster

MOU with relevant companies, establishing a Disaster RoboticsCenter  

Creating the nation’s largest roboticindustry cluster pursued by Incheon Metropolitan City is given a green light.

 

Incheon Metropolitan City said thatIncheon Robot Industry Innovation Cluster (Incheon Robot Land), which is beingestablished in Cheongna International City, a Incheon Free Economic Zone, hasbeen inundated with investment inquiries by robot-related businesses.

IncheonMetropolitan City started to attract investment by robot companies forindustrial land(249,803) in full swing after it has obtainedapproval in its change in the Development Plan for Incheon Robot Land (from a RobotTheme Park to Robot Industry Cluster) last June from the Ministry of Trade,Industry and Energy.    

Starting from the MOU with Korea’s no.1educational robot company, Roborobo, MOUs with Potenit, a robot logisticscompany, with Withnec, experiment analysis company and other service-robotlisted companies have been signed to date.

In addition, an industrial robotcompany, major companies, middle-market companies and SMEs have proposedinvestment in industrial sites considering their headquarters or researchinstitutes’ transfer or robot-proving space creation.

Incheon Metropolitan City will start designing infrastructure work for RobotIndustry Innovation Cluster (Incheon Robot Land) next year and finish the workby the end of 2024.

To this end investors will be exploredby the mid next year and the optimal environment for robot companies to growfurther will be created so that it can serve as a hub for the nation’srepresentative robot industry. 

In Cheongna, construction of theDisaster Robotic Center and Authentication and Evaluation Center for connectedcar materials and parts is confirmed and Future Energy Support Center for robotutilization is under review. 

On this note, the best possible businessenvironment will be created with Incheon Subway Line 7 (year 2027), the ThirdLanding Bridge (year 2025), Medical Complex Facility (Asan hospital, year 2027)and the establishing of Hyundai Mobis Hydrogen Production Facility (year2023). 

Incheon Robot Land project will createRobot Industry Cluster on the land as big as 769,279 square meter in Cheongna InternationalCity, consisting of industrial land, business land, robot-experiencing facilityand commercial facility.
