MOU with relevant companies, establishing a Disaster Robotics Center  

Creating the nation’s largest robotic industry cluster pursued by Incheon Metropolitan City is given a green light.

 

Incheon Metropolitan City said that Incheon Robot Industry Innovation Cluster (Incheon Robot Land), which is being established in Cheongna International City, a Incheon Free Economic Zone, has been inundated with investment inquiries by robot-related businesses.

Incheon Metropolitan City started to attract investment by robot companies for industrial land(249,803) in full swing after it has obtained approval in its change in the Development Plan for Incheon Robot Land (from a Robot Theme Park to Robot Industry Cluster) last June from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.    

Starting from the MOU with Korea’s no.1 educational robot company, Roborobo, MOUs with Potenit, a robot logistics company, with Withnec, experiment analysis company and other service-robot listed companies have been signed to date.

In addition, an industrial robot company, major companies, middle-market companies and SMEs have proposed investment in industrial sites considering their headquarters or research institutes’ transfer or robot-proving space creation.

Incheon Metropolitan City will start designing infrastructure work for Robot Industry Innovation Cluster (Incheon Robot Land) next year and finish the work by the end of 2024.

To this end investors will be explored by the mid next year and the optimal environment for robot companies to grow further will be created so that it can serve as a hub for the nation’s representative robot industry. 

In Cheongna, construction of the Disaster Robotic Center and Authentication and Evaluation Center for connected car materials and parts is confirmed and Future Energy Support Center for robot utilization is under review. 

On this note, the best possible business environment will be created with Incheon Subway Line 7 (year 2027), the Third Landing Bridge (year 2025), Medical Complex Facility (Asan hospital, year 2027)and the establishing of Hyundai Mobis Hydrogen Production Facility (year 2023). 

Incheon Robot Land project will create Robot Industry Cluster on the land as big as 769,279 square meter in Cheongna International City, consisting of industrial land, business land, robot-experiencing facility and commercial facility.
