-Creating a Complex Cultural Arts Space Combining a Municipal Art Museum, Museum, and Art Park-
Incheon Metropolitan City (Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok) announced it is actively pursuing the creation of ‘Incheon Museum Park,’ a complex cultural space integrating an art museum, museum, and art park. This initiative addresses Incheon's status as the only one among the nation's seven special/metropolitan cities without a municipal art museum.
Following its passage through the second stage of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's central investment review in April, Incheon City completed the construction bid announcement after undergoing key procedures such as routine audits and contract deliberations. It now plans to swiftly advance administrative procedures with the goal of opening in 2028, selecting a construction company within this year and commencing work.
Incheon Museum Park is a complex cultural arts platform where the Incheon Museum of Art, Incheon Museum, and an art park will be integrated into a single complex. It will be built as a complex facility with one basement level and two above-ground floors, covering a site area of 41,170㎡ and a total floor area of 38,889㎡. It plans to operate cultural arts, exhibition, and educational programs, providing diverse cultural enjoyment opportunities for all generations to come together and enjoy.
Incheon Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok stated, “Incheon Museum Park will become a key hub elevating Incheon's cultural capabilities to a world-class level,” adding, “We will do our utmost to ensure every citizen can enjoy high-quality culture and arts in their daily lives and to propel Incheon into a global cultural and tourism city.”
