- To be held at Songdo Convensia in March 2027, drawing 1,500 participants from 187 member countries -

Incheon Metropolitan City and the Incheon Tourism Organization (ITO) announced that the 2027 World Customs Organization (WCO) Technology Conference & Exhibition has been locked in to take place at Songdo Convensia from March 9–11, 2027. Hosted by the WCO and organized by the Korea Customs Service, this prestigious event represents a major milestone for the region.
The conference is a large-scale international gathering that will bring together roughly 1,500 delegates, including customs authorities representing the WCO’s 187 member states, officials from international organizations, global enterprise leaders, and industry experts. The primary agenda will center on the digital transformation of customs administration and the latest breakthroughs in trade-related technology trends. The gathering is widely anticipated to stimulate the local economy and substantially sharpen the competitive edge of Incheon’s MICE industry.
Incheon was officially ratified as the definitive host venue during the WCO Council Sessions held in Brussels, Belgium, from June 25–27.
To anchor this successful bid, the city government and ITO combined forces with the Korea Customs Service and the Korea Tourism Organization. When the WCO evaluation team conducted a site inspection in Korea this past April, local organizers aggressively demonstrated the city’s international convention capabilities by showcasing top-notch infrastructure, including Songdo Convensia and the premium integrated resorts on Yeongjong-do Island.
In particular, Incheon effectively demonstrated its unique appeal by presenting curated content that bridged its historical identity as Korea’s original port-opening city with modern tourism assets associated with the Incheon Open Port Area. Ultimately, the city secured stellar evaluations across the board for its premium convention infrastructure, seamless global accessibility, and abundant lodging and tourism resources.
Kim Yeong-shin, Director of Foreign Affairs Bureau of Incheon, stated, “Securing this conference serves as an ideal springboard for Incheon to leap forward as the centerpiece of international trade and logistics, as well as a tech-driven global MICE destination. We will establish a tight collaborative network with all relevant bodies, including the Korea Customs Service and the Korea Tourism Organization, to guarantee a flawless and successful event in 2027.”
