Incheon’s Yeonsu-gu is renaming local neighborhood and children's parks, which were previously identified by unclear and number-based names that were hard to remember, through a resident contest and preference survey.

The new names are mostly linked to local place names or translated into Korean to evoke the local image. They are also designed to be easy-to-remember Korean words that inspire dreams and hope in children.

A Yeonsu-gu official stated, “As the residents have personally named the parks with affection for their local areas, we hope the new names will be loved and widely used by the community.”
