Incheon City Seeks Citizen Input on the Operation of the ‘Incheon Museum of Art
Incheon City is collaborating with local experts and citizens to establish the operational approach for the ‘Incheon Museum of Art, set to open in 2027. The city plans to conduct research seminars for the Museum of Art monthly from the 26th of this month until September.
In the first seminar, attended by directors of public art museums, we are going to take a glance at the ‘specialization strategy’ that the art museum will showcase. In the second seminar, which will bring together local artists and exhibition space operators, they will discuss strategies such as ‘networking with the local art scene.’
On September 10th, the third seminar will see cultural experts and critics discussing the ‘direction of cultural and art education in the museum’.
The city intends to hold a public forum in October, incorporating the opinions of citizens based on the discussions from the seminars.
Incheon’s Talents Embark on a Global Journey through Overseas Training
Incheon Metropolitan City is launching an overseas training program for university students as part of its initiative to become a top 10 global city. The program, which received applications from 468 students aged 19 to 34 who graduated from high schools in Incheon, will send 25 selected students to RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia. From the end of July to the end of August, these students will participate in a 5-week short-term training program, gaining exposure to local culture and visiting various landmarks.
Enjoy a Special Summer Break at Michuhol Library
Incheon Metropolitan City’s Michuhol Library has revealed that it will operate various courses and cultural events, including reading classes and special vacation lectures, to mark the summer break.
The 2024 summer reading class, ‘Discovering the World of Theatre through Books’, will be conducted for five days from August 5th to 9th, targeting students in the 3rd and 4th grades.
A representative from the Library expressed their hopes, saying, ‘We wish for the children enjoying their summer holidays to have a fulfilling time participating in various programs at the library, and we also hope that this will serve as an opportunity for them to expand their knowledge and grow with books.
