Malaria Alert Issued in Yeonsu District Following Ganghwa County


Incheon City has issued a second malaria alert for Yeonsu District, following the first alert for Ganghwa County on the 17th of this month.

The city announced the alert due to recent cases of malaria clusters reported in Yeonsu District.

Malaria is transmitted through the bites of infected female Anopheles mosquitoes and typically has an incubation period of 7 to 30 days before symptoms such as fever, chills, headache, muscle pain, vomiting, and diarrhea appear.

An Incheon city official stated, “Three-day fever malaria, which is commonly found in Korea, can be completely cured with appropriate treatment. If you experience unexplained high fever, please visit a medical institution for testing.”




7 Million Attendees... The Return of a Favorite for Summer 'Songdo Beer Festival'


Songdo Beer Festival will take place from August 23 to 31 for nine days at Songdo Moonlight Festival Park.

Every evening at 9 PM, the festival will reach its peak with a spectacular fireworks display. Starting at 9:10 PM, the stage will come alive with performances from renowned artists, which will ignite the excitement of the Songdo Beer Festival.

This year, the festival will feature performances by Daybreak, known for their popular hits such as "Love Actually" and "Flower Road," and Insooni, who recently completed a nationwide tour following her appearance on the program 'Golden Girls.'

Admission to the 2024 Songdo Beer Festival is free. The festival will be open from 6 PM to 10 PM on weekdays and from 5 PM to 10 PM on weekends.





The Woori Museum of Art to Exhibit "Islands Embracing the Sea"


The Woori Museum of Art, operated by the Incheon Foundation for Arts & Culture, will host the exhibition "Islands" by artist Lee Chang-koo.

The museum will present East Asian paintings themed around the sea and islands, targeting a diverse audience including young visitors, in time for the summer vacation.

Incheon Leads in Sustainability Initiatives with Reusable Containers at 'Incheon Pentaport Music Festival'


Incheon City will support the use of reusable containers at the '2024 Incheon Pentaport Music Festival,' taking place from August 2 to 4.

The Incheon Pentaport Music Festival, which attracts around 150,000 participants each year, is a major event in Incheon. By promoting the use of reusable containers, the festival aims to reduce single-use plastic and enhance Incheon’s reputation as a green city both domestically and internationally.

It is anticipated that during the festival, the 150,000 attendees will use over 250,000 reusable containers, leading to a reduction of approximately 2.5 tons of waste.

An Incheon city official stated, "Supporting the use of reusable containers at the Incheon Pentaport Music Festival will further highlight Incheon’s image as a leader in reducing single-use plastics and advancing environmental sustainability.”
