Incheon Songdo International Camping Site Named Korea’s First ‘Life-Love Camping Ground
The city of Incheon has designated the Incheon Songdo International Camping Site as Korea’s first ‘Life-Love Camping Site’ to enhance the social safety net for preventing carbon monoxide poisoning suicides.
This designation aims to strengthen safety management to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning suicides as well as to identify high-risk groups for suicide within camping grounds nationwide.
With this designation, the city will support suicide prevention education for camping ground owners and employees, and carry out campaigns to raise awareness to promote a culture of respect for life. The city plans to expand these efforts to other camping grounds within the jurisdiction.
Incheon to Showcase Diverse Craft Works at ‘Fine Craft Exhibition
The Incheon Craft Artists Association will hold the ‘Fine Craft Exhibition’ from August 6th to 11th at the Gaon Gallery in the Incheon Student Education and Culture Center.
The exhibition will display a wide range of craft works, including ceramics, woodcraft, hanji (Korean paper) crafts, and embroidery, showcasing various materials and techniques.
This event promises to offer visitors a distinctive artistic experience through the unique and creative works of the artists.
The exhibition will be open daily from 10 AM to 6 PM, with free admission.
Korea Forest Service Selects ‘50 Beautiful Urban Forests’… Focus on Expanding Urban Green Spaces
The Korea Forest Service has announced the ‘50 Beautiful Urban Forests.’
The very purpose of this initiative is to increase public perception of the value and functions of urban forests in various cities. The selected urban forests are classified into five categories based on their functions and roles. These include, Climate Change Response, Economic Effect Enhancement, Landscape Improvement, Resident Health Promotion, and Resident Participation
In Incheon, the ‘무장애 Urban Forest in Mansusan, Namdong-gu’ was included in the Resident Health Promotion category.
Incheon Launches Support Program for Young Caregivers
The city of Incheon has initiated a program to support teenagers and young adults who are the primary caregivers for their sick family members. Applications for the program will be accepted until the 30th.
The program is open to individuals aged 13 to 34 who live with the family member in need of care.
Once approved, a dedicated management team will provide care and medical services to the sick family member, and offer scholarships, financial, housing, and career counseling to the young caregivers.
Applications can be submitted online or at local administrative welfare centers.
