2024 Reading Festival Recruiting University Student Supporters


Incheon is gearing up for its 2024 Reading Festival with the purpose of promoting a reading culture throughout the city. 

And the city is looking for university students to join as supporters. The recruitment drive, which runs until August 16, seeks around 20 students to help promote the festival on social media and assist with event operations. 

The supporters will be active from August 22 until the festival concludes on September 29. 

An Incheon City official encouraged passionate students to get involved.





Typhoon Preparedness: Inspections and Actions Underway


In preparation for the summer typhoon and heavy rainfall season, Incheon City has launched a series of inspections and corrective measures for vulnerable areas and facilities. 

The Korea Meteorological Administration recently declared the end of the monsoon season, but heavy rainfall continues to break records. 

Incheon City is committed to addressing any risk factors and deficiencies identified during these inspections before typhoons or downpour fully set in.




Special Educational Program ‘From Daebul Hotel to Junghwalu’ for Adults in Their 20s and 30s


The Incheon Metropolitan City Museum has announced a unique adult education program, ‘From Daebul Hotel to Junghwalu…’, scheduled for Saturday, August 17. 

The program will delve into the history of Daebul Hotel, Korea’s first hotel established in 1884, and the story of Junghwalu, which later operated in the same building. 

This special session targeting adults in their 20s and 30s, will take place from 3 PM to 5 PM. Registration is available from August 5 to 14 on the Incheon City Online Integrated Reservation website, with only 20 spots available on a first-come, first-served basis.





Korea Forest Service Selects ‘50 Beautiful Urban Forests’… Focus on Expanding Urban Green Spaces


The Korea Forest Service has announced the ‘50 Beautiful Urban Forests.’

The very purpose of this initiative is to increase public perception of the value and functions of urban forests in various cities. The selected urban forests are classified into five categories based on their functions and roles. These include, Climate Change Response, Economic Effect Enhancement, Landscape Improvement, Resident Health Promotion, and Resident Participation

In Incheon, the ‘무장애 Urban Forest in Mansusan, Namdong-gu’ was included in the Resident Health Promotion category.
