Incheon Islands Pilgrimage Tour Packages Launched


Incheon City, Ongjin County, and the Incheon Tourism Organization have launched new pilgrimage tour packages for the islands of Incheon. These packages, created in partnership with the Catholic Diocese of Incheon, offer 1-night 2-day and 2-night 3-day options. 

Pilgrims can visit Baengnyeong Catholic Church, Dumujin Chapel, and Sagot Chapel, and enjoy the scenic beauty of Baengnyeong Island with activities such as the Dumujin Cruise, Simcheong Pavilion, and Kongdol Beach. 

The 2-night 3-day package includes an additional visit to Daecheong Island, featuring stops at Seonjindong Chapel and Daecheong Church, and a trekking course at Seopungbawi. The tourism organization hopes this initiative will establish Incheon’s islands as a key pilgrimage destination and plans to expand the program to other religions and non-profit organizations.





Successful Conclusion of 2024 Summer IGC Dream Vacation Camp


The Incheon Global Campus (IGC) has announced the successful completion of the ‘2024 Summer IGC Dream Vacation Camp,’ which culminated in a graduation ceremony and exhibition on the 17th. 

The camp, held from the 7th to the 9th, hosted 50 students from 4th to 6th grade elementary schools in Incheon, prioritizing those from the old city.

An IGC official noted that the camp provided participants with motivation for English learning and opportunities to develop creativity, self-achievement, and teamwork through mentoring sessions and collaborative projects with university students.





Incheon Students Gain Global Insights Through Overseas Entrepreneurship Training


The Incheon Office of Education has announced the successful completion of the 2024 Entrepreneurship Overseas Training for 52 middle and high school students from the Global Startup School’s second cohort. 

The training, held in Vietnam and Singapore, featured a demo day where students presented their startup plans and received feedback from local experts.

Superintendent Do Seong-hoon stressed the significance of these experiences in developing global insights and pledged to continue providing such opportunities to help students grow into globally-minded talents.





 No-Smoking Zones Expanded Around Schools in Incheon Dong District


Incheon Dong District has expanded the no-smoking zones around kindergartens, daycare centers, and schools to 30 meters, following the amendment of the ‘National Health Promotion Act.’ 

The previous boundary was 10 meters. This new regulation, effective from the 17th, also applies to elementary, middle, and high schools. 

A fine of 100,000 won will be imposed on those caught smoking within the 30-meter zone. An official from the district called for residents’ cooperation to ensure a smoke-free environment for children’s healthy growth.
