Late-Night ‘Byeolbam Bus’ Expands to Four Routes on August 24
The city of Incheon has announced that starting August 24, it will expand the late-night bus service, known as the "Byeolbam Bus," from the current two routes to four routes.
The "Byeolbam Bus" was introduced earlier this year to address the inconvenience faced by citizens traveling between Incheon and Seoul, as subway services end late at night, leaving no bus connections. This late-night bus service aims to fill that gap.
An Incheon city official stated, "With the introduction of the Byeolbam Bus, we hope to enhance the convenience and safety of public transportation for citizens during late hours and alleviate the economic burden of travel between Incheon and Seoul."
Incheon Film Week Poster Unveiled
The schedule for 'Incheon Film Week 2024,' the largest film festival held in Incheon, has been confirmed.
This year’s Incheon Film Week, held under the theme "A Scene from My Youth," will take place from October 18 to 24 across various locations in Incheon.
Hosted by the city of Incheon and organized by the Incheon Film Commission, Incheon Film Week is held annually to revisit Incheon’s significant role in the history of Korean cinema.
An event official stated, "As Incheon Film Week continues to grow every year, we ask for your great interest in Incheon Film Week 2024, which has become a film festival that truly represents Incheon."
Incheon City Opens Enrollment for Second Half of Home Gardening Program
The Incheon Metropolitan Agricultural Technology Center has announced that it will start recruiting participants for the 2024 second half of its home gardening program on August 19.
This program offers education on creating personalized houseplants and terrariums and will be conducted over six sessions, with three sessions for each of the two groups, from September 4 to October 23.
Any Incheon resident can apply, and a total of 30 participants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, with 15 participants in each group. Interested residents can apply through the Incheon Agricultural Technology Center's website starting on August 19.
Incheon City Strengthens Hygiene Management of Livestock Products Ahead of Chuseok
The Incheon Metropolitan Health and Environment Research Institute has announced that in anticipation of a surge in meat consumption during the Chuseok holiday, they will take comprehensive measures to ensure a hygienic and smooth supply of livestock products. These measures include opening slaughterhouses earlier and conducting slaughtering operations on public holidays.
From August 19 to September 6, for three weeks, the operating hours of slaughterhouses will be moved up to 7 a.m., and depending on the supply and demand situation, slaughtering operations will also be conducted on public holidays.
An Incheon city official stated, "We will do our utmost to ensure the safety of meat products so that citizens can consume them with peace of mind."
