IFEZ and Silicon Valley Collaborate on Advanced Industry Initiatives
In a bid to foster industrial cooperation, the Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ) and Silicon Valley have initiated exchanges through a network of Korean scientists and engineers.
Commissioner 윤원석 led a delegation of five startup representatives to the US-Korea Conference (UKC) in San Francisco. The conference, held from August 21st to 24th, attracted over 1,000 participants, including key figures from research institutions, universities, and corporations.
The 37th annual UKC, organized by the Korean-American Scientists and Engineers Association (KSEA), featured a series of scientific symposiums and startup investment competitions.
2024 Incheon eSports Challenge Amateur Tournament’ to Kick Off on August 31st
Incheon Metropolitan City and Incheon Technopark will host the ‘2024 Incheon eSports Challenge Amateur Tournament’ from August 31st to September 1st at Songdo Convensia’s Exhibition Hall 3.
The tournament, themed ‘2024 Incheon Game Festival SUMMER,’ will feature five games, including League of Legends, Valorant, Overwatch 2, and FC ONLINE 24, with a total prize pool of 30 million KRW.

Incheon City Completes Expansion of Smart Crosswalk Signals
Incheon Metropolitan City has announced the completion of its initiative to expand the installation of smart crosswalk ground-level pedestrian signals. T
his move aims to enhance pedestrian safety by providing additional signal information directly on the crosswalk waiting line, thereby improving walking convenience and preventing traffic accidents.
These smart crosswalks utilize advanced technology to assist pedestrians, and the ground-level signals play a crucial role in increasing visibility, especially at night. This enhancement is expected to significantly reduce traffic accidents, particularly in right-turn sections.

Incheon City Expands Part-Time Childcare Services to Ease Family Care Burden
From August, Incheon Metropolitan City will double the number of part-time childcare services from 54 to 110.
This move aims to alleviate the childcare burden on families by providing temporary childcare services on an hourly basis at designated institutions.
Reservations can be made via the ‘I-Sarang’ website. Families receiving home childcare allowances and parental benefits can utilize the service for 2,000 won per hour, up to 60 hours per month.
