Incheon City Library Celebrates Reading Month with Cultural Events
In celebration of Reading Month this September, Incheon’s Michuhol Library and its branche will host a variety of cultural events, including meeting with authors and performances.
Highlights include a science reading activity for elementary students on September 11th and 12th, a book start parent education and a jazz performance featuring music from ‘Midnight in Paris’ on September 29th.
A library representative expressed hopes that these events will bring citizens closer to the library.
Incheon to Host 2024 ITF Incheon Open International Women’s Tennis Tournament
Incheon City has announced that the ‘2024 ITF Incheon Open International Women’s Tennis Tour Tournament’ will take place at Yeolwoomul Tennis Stadium from September 1st to 8th.
This prestigious W100 event, one of the largest on the International Tennis Federation’s World Tour, will feature approximately 240 players from 20 countries, including Japan, India, Australia, and the United States, competing in both singles and doubles matches.
Incheon Offers Special Passport Cases for Holiday Season
Incheon City announced that from September to December, citizens applying for passports will receive a specially designed case to protect the electronic chip.
Passport issuance in Incheon has increased by 134% in 2023 compared to 2022, and this year’s numbers are expected to be even higher.
The cases feature the spotted seal, a natural monument, to promote the city’s brand. A city official said, “We are committed to ensuring that citizens are satisfied with our passport services.

2024 Incheon eSports Challenge Amateur Tournament’ to Kick Off on August 31st
Incheon Metropolitan City and Incheon Technopark will host the ‘2024 Incheon eSports Challenge Amateur Tournament’ from August 31st to September 1st at Songdo Convensia’s Exhibition Hall 3.
The tournament, themed ‘2024 Incheon Game Festival SUMMER,’ will feature five games, including League of Legends, Valorant, Overwatch 2, and FC ONLINE 24, with a total prize pool of 30 million KRW.
