Incheon Metropolitan city receives lost Incheon Museum history after over 70 years


In a significant move, the Incheon metropolitan  City has received three issues of its historical bulletin 'gojuk' from the National Museum of Korea. These issues, including the very first one from 1947, were handed over on August 7th.

The museum had been searching for these lost issues for years, and recently  discovered that the national Museum had them. After requesting copies, they were unexpectedly given the original issues instead.

The museum plans to display these issues in a new 'Museum Archive Hall' and is considering reprinting them for the local community.





12th Ganghwa National Gugak Competition to be Held


The 12th Ganghwa National Gugak Competition, where traditional Korean musicians from across the country showcase their talents, will be held on the 7th at the Ganghwa Culture and Arts Center in Ganghwa County, Incheon.

The competition is divided into two categories: vocal and instrumental. The vocal category includes group performances, master singers, and student groups, while the instrumental category is divided into general and student groups.

The grand prize of the competition will be awarded by the Speaker of the National Assembly, with additional prizes from the Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, along with awards for each category, including a special prize for children.





Incheon City Promotes Smart Hub City at 'World Smart City Expo


Incheon City announced that it will operate a promotional booth at the '2024 World smart city Expo (WSCE 2024)' from September 3rd to 5th at kintex in Ilsan. The booth will highlight Incheon's outstanding smart city projects and support programs for smart technology companies.

The 2024 World smart city Expo is Asia's largest annual smart city event, themed "Better Life is Here" this year, bringing together government and industry/ experts from around the world in the smart city sector.

Incheon’s booth will promote various smart city technologies under the theme of 'Global Future City, Smart Hub City Incheon.






Incheon City Holds First Short-form Contest on Pregnancy, Childbirth, and Parenting


Incheon City is hosting its first short-form video contest on "Pregnancy, Childbirth, and Parenting" to raise public awareness of population issues like low birth rates and aging.

In collaboration with the Korea Population, Health, and Welfare Association, the contest runs until the 22nd, inviting citizens to share positive experiences related to pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting, aiming to create a more family-friendly environment.

Any Incheon resident can participate by submitting vertical videos, 15 to 60 seconds long, that promote positive perceptions of marriage, pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting.
