Incheon Wins 2024 Korea Local Guardian Leadership Award


Incheon City received the Leadership Award at the 2024 Korea Local Guardian Awards, which recognizes local governments and companies for efforts in preventing local extinction and addressing population decline. Incheon was acknowledged for its proactive measures, such as the "1 Billion Plus I-Dream" birth policy, launched to address low birth rates. The city plans to expand its policies to cover housing and youth initiatives to further tackle this issue.





Incheon Unveils "Baro Bus 2.0" to Improve Arrival Accuracy 


Incheon City introduced its next-generation bus information system, "Baro Bus 2.0," which enhances the accuracy of bus arrival times by incorporating route and station-specific algorithms. This system addresses the limitations of the previous Bus Information Terminals (BIT) and improves operational efficiency. An official stated that the system will provide better public transportation services by improving convenience and stability.




45th Incheon Green Climate Academy to Be Held on September 27


The 45th Incheon Green Climate Academy will take place on September 27 at Incheon YWCA. This educational program aims to strengthen the capacity of public officials, businesses, civic groups, students, and citizens in achieving carbon neutrality amidst the climate crisis. Interested citizens can register in advance on the Incheon Carbon Neutrality Research Center website or sign up on-site.




 Incheon Offers Portable AED Rentals for Local Events


Incheon City will provide portable Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) for local events to improve survival rates for cardiac arrest cases. The initiative aims to increase accessibility to AEDs at high-risk, high-traffic areas and large-scale events like regional festivals. An official mentioned that with multiple festivals planned for October, the AED rental program is expected to contribute to safer community events.
