Incheon to Launch Full ESG Support for SMEs in 2025 


Incheon announced that it has established the 2025 Incheon-style Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) support plan to enhance the sustainability and competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and will begin full-scale support. 

This support plan was prepared based on the “Ordinance on Promoting ESG Management in Incheon Metropolitan City,” which was enacted on July 17th through the initiative of City Councilor, Park Chang-ho. The city has established three major strategies under the vision of “Realizing a Global Top-Class ESG City.”

An official from Incheon stated that with global ESG regulations tightening and increasing the management burden on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), they will do their best to ensure that the enactment of this ordinance and tailored ESG support to help alleviate the burden on Incheon-based companies and contribute to creating a sustainable growth ecosystem. 



Incheon Brings Free Medical Care to Deokjeokdo 


Incheon is the only metropolitan city designated as a medically underserved area, covering the island regions of Ganghwa County and Ongjin County. To ensure the health rights of residents in these areas, the city is collaborating with 10 public and private medical institutions to promote the “One Island, One Partner Hospital”, public-private partnership free medical service project. 

In Ganghwa Country and Ongjin Country, the elderly population accounts for 33% of the total population. There is a need for specialized screenings to prevent and manage chronic diseases such as heart disease and cerebrovascular disease, which are prevalent among those aged 65 and older. 

An official from Incheon stated that in the future, Incheon will continue to do its best to ensure that island residents receive better medical services by maintaining ongoing medical support collaborations with general hospitals in the area. 





Record-Scale K-Security Industry Exhibition Held in Incheon 


The only security industry exhibition in the country, the “2024 Korea Police World Expo 2024”, kicked off on the 23rd. 

The security industry exhibition is co-hosted by Incheon City and the National Police Agency, with Incheon Tourism Organization and Messe Incheon Co., Ltd, Overseeing the event. It will take place at Songdo Convensia in Incheon for four days, until October 26th. 

This exhibition is designed as a professional business event to identify the latest trends in the future of public safety and security industries and to present directions for future development. 






Incheon Women’s Family Foundation Launches Talent Sharing Project, “Club Plus YOU!” 


The talent-sharing project “Club Plus YOU!” hosted by the Incheon Women’s Family Foundation has successfully concluded. 

The foundation has established a system to identify clubs wishing to share their talents and the organizations in need of such talents, facilitating connections and support between the two sides through this project. 

The foundation stated that it will actively leverage the skilled individuals developed through club activities to promote community engagement initiatives. It aims to position these efforts as meaningful projects that extend beyond mere volunteering, incorporating elements of environmental protection and sustainable giving.
