Incheon Implements Major Ferry Fare Discounts for Citizens


Incheon Metropolitan City announced that starting next year, citizens can travel to islands like Baengnyeong, Daecheong, Yeonpyeong, and Deokjeok Islands at city bus fare prices. 

The Incheon I-Sea Pass policy will reduce coastal ferry fares to 3,000 won for a round trip.

This new policy will cover 16 ferries on 14 routes linking Incheon’s mainland with its islands, except for the Incheon-Pungdo route. 

Furthermore, the city plans to extend public transportation fare support for couples with newborns.





Historic Incheon Building to Reopen as Artist Exhibition Space


The Incheon Foundation for Arts and Culture is set to reopen a 130-year-old building as an exhibition space dedicated to the work of Incheon-based artists. 

The building, once the Incheon branch of the Japan Mail Steamship Company and a nationally registered cultural heritage site, will be relaunched as the 'IAP Archive' on the 25th, marking the 15th anniversary of the Incheon Art Platform or IAP.


Architect Son Ju-hee has designed the IAP Archive, which will showcase a wide array of programs and exhibition-related materials gathered over the past 15 years.





Incheon City Pushes for Undergrounding of Gyeongin Railway


Incheon Metropolitan City disclosed today (25th) its plan to submit a "Gyeongin Railway Undergrounding Pilot Project" proposal to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport. 

This proposal, in partnership with Gyeonggi Province, includes undergrounding a 14km section of the Gyeongin Railway from Incheon Station to Bugae Station.

If selected, the basic plan for the undergrounding project will be created starting in January 2025. The construction phase will span from 2028 to 2037, with the development of the above-ground areas set for 2030 to 2042.






Incheon Hosts Northeast Asia Sustainable Development Forum

Incheon Metropolitan City announced that from October 23 to 25, the “2024 8th Northeast Asia Sustainable Development Goals Stakeholder Forum” will be held at G-Tower. Organized by the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific: East and North-East Asia Office.


It serves as part of the consultation process for the “Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development,” which feeds into the “High-Level Political Forum” held annually in New York by the United Nations Economic and Social Council. 

Discussions will focus on five of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals: health and well-being, achieving gender equality, decent work and economic growth, conservation of marine ecosystems, and global partnerships.
