IFEZ Love Coal Donation by Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority
The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority held the "2024 IFEZ Love Coal Donation" event on November 1, delivering coal directly to low-income households in the Hagik-dong area of Michuhol-gu.
The event saw participation from over 100 individuals, including Commissioner Yoon Won-seok, staff members from the IFEZ Authority, and employees from Good Neighbors Incheon and other resident companies and organizations.
Volunteers delivered a total of 3,000 coal briquettes to 15 households, ensuring that their less fortunate neighbors could spend a warm winter.
Incheon City Develops Functional Beverage Enhanced with GABA Using Incheon Island Rice
The Metropolitan City Health and Environment Research Institute has developed a functional fermented beverage enhanced with GABA (γ-aminobutyric acid) made with Incheon Island rice, designed to support brain health and blood pressure management.
GABA is an inhibitory neurotransmitter abundant in the central nervous system, known for its benefits in lowering blood pressure, anti-aging, improving sleep, and alleviating anxiety.
An official from Incheon City stated, “Given the decrease in rice consumption due to the rise of Western diets and concerns about high carbohydrate intake, we expect that the development of processed foods using rice will contribute to revitalizing rice consumption.”
Incheon City Holds ‘Family Mentorship Day’
On November 2, Incheon Metropolitan City successfully hosted the "Incheon Embraces: Independent Youth Talk & Movie Day" event at CGV Incheon.
The event was themed "Warm Companionship in Incheon’s Embrace" and aimed to support the stable independence of youth preparing for self-sufficiency, in partnership with the local community.
The "In-Poom Project," meaning "Incheon’s Embrace," is a signature initiative of the 8th elected administration of Incheon. Since last year, the city has organized the In-Poom Family Group to support young people preparing for independence by providing various programs that ensure their stable growth.
Incheon City Holds 'Housing Welfare Forum' on November 5
Incheon City will hold the "2024 Incheon Housing Welfare Forum" on November 5 at Contents Korea Lab Incheon in Michuhol-gu.
Organized by the city and coordinated by the Incheon Housing and City Development Corporation, the forum will focus on the theme "Current and Future of the Incheon Housing and City Development Corporation."
The event will bring together housing welfare experts, public officials, and citizens to discuss strategies for addressing housing service gaps in the community and exploring directions for future development.
