Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority Enters Full Swing with Songdo District 6·8 Development Project
The landmark city project aimed at elevating the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority to an international destination has entered its main phase.
On the 16th, the IFEZ Authority held a site briefing at the POSCO E&C headquarters in Songdo for the international design competition related to the Songdo District 6·8 development.
This international design competition aims to incorporate innovative architectural designs that can attract global attention to the Songdo District 6·8, focusing on four key areas: Landmark Tower 1, Landmark Tower 2, Theme Space, and Culture Spine.
The IFEZ Authority plans to select the preferred design firm in March, following the submission of model proposals and final presentations scheduled for February next year.
Incheon University Alliance Festival "University Arts Communication Festival" Concludes Successfully
On November 2, Incheon Metropolitan City successfully held the "2024 Incheon University Arts Communication Festival" at Neoulgaji Park in Songdo, in collaboration with ten universities located in Incheon.
This event, held for the second time following last year’s festival, was initiated in response to a request made during a meeting in March, where the Incheon City government and student council leaders from 12 local universities called for a platform to foster unity and communication among the youth.
Notably, this year’s festival took place in Songdo, home to six of the 14 universities in Incheon, aligning perfectly with the theme "University Arts Communication."
The Mayor of Incheon City, Yoo JeongBok expressed his commitment to actively support young people in Incheon, stating that he hopes they can pursue their dreams in one of the most dynamic cities in South Korea, full of limitless potential.
Incheon City Holds Kimchi-Making Event to Teach Children the Value of Traditional Foods
Starting today, Incheon Metropolitan City will conduct a "Kimchi-Making Experience" event over three weeks, visiting 26 local kindergartens and engaging approximately 3,200 children.
This event is sponsored by Incheon City and organized by the Incheon Kimchi Pickling Cooperative Association. It aims to educate children and their families about the excellence of kimchi, providing hands-on activities such as mixing and tasting kimchi to highlight the importance of traditional foods and promote the preservation and value of kimchi culture.
An official from Incheon City stated, "We hope this experience will help children naturally learn about the significance of kimchi and traditional foods."
Incheon City Recruiting Participants for Healthy Food Culture Experience Education Using Local Produce
Incheon Agriculture Technology Service Center will offer a healthy food culture experience education program using local produce starting November 15.
The program focuses on helping participants learn about locally produced agricultural products while engaging in cooking healthy home meals, promoting an understanding of traditional food culture and encouraging the consumption of local ingredients.
The education sessions will be held three times on Fridays from November 15 to 29, with a total of 24 participants accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications for the program can be made starting November 4 through the Incheon City online reservation website.
