IFEZ Hosts Public Lecture for Foreign Nationals


The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority (IFEZ) held a public lecture titled "Lecture with Foreign Nationals in IFEZ" at the IFEZ Global Center on the 7th.

The lecture was organized to improve the quality of life for foreign nationals residing or working in the Incheon Free Economic Zone and to create a more foreigner-friendly environment.

A professional instructor from the Incheon Local Administrative Society provided a detailed explanation, using real-life examples, about the work conditions associated with student visas and accompanying family visas held by foreign nationals, helping the audience better understand the issues.

An IFEZ official stated, "This lecture served as an opportunity to address the challenges faced by foreign nationals in IFEZ. We will continue to do our best to support their successful settlement and integration."




Incheon City Conducts 2024 Basic Survey on Households and Housing for 820,000 Households


Incheon Metropolitan City will conduct the "2024 Basic Survey on Households and Housing" from November 8 to 27.

This survey, conducted every five years, aims to collect foundational data on households, housing, and agricultural and fisheries households. The data will be used for the 2025 Population and Housing Census and the Census of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries.

The survey will cover all residences in Incheon, including vacant homes, totaling approximately 823,536 households. It will collect data on 14 items, including address, type of residence, year of construction, total number of rooms, and whether the household resides in a studio apartment, among other details.

A total of 188 surveyors will visit each residence to verify the data and conduct face-to-face interviews.





Incheon City Launches ‘Alcohol Harm Prevention Walking Challenge’ to Promote a Healthy Drinking Culture


Incheon Metropolitan City will host the "Alcohol Harm Prevention Walking Challenge" for three weeks, from November 18 to December 8, in observance of Alcohol Harm Prevention Month (November).

The challenge aims to raise awareness of the seriousness of alcohol-related issues and encourage responsible drinking. It will be conducted via the mobile platform ‘Walk On.’

Through this challenge, Incheon City plans to promote the 2024 Alcohol Harm Prevention slogan, “I didn’t pour the drink; I followed my thoughts,” and raise awareness of five key principles for practicing moderation in drinking. The goal is to foster a healthier drinking culture among residents.





Incheon City Warns of Increased Risk of Norovirus and Foodborne Illnesses in Winter


Incheon Metropolitan City has issued a warning about the potential rise in foodborne illnesses, such as norovirus, as temperatures drop with the onset of early winter.

According to an analysis of food poisoning incidents over the past three years (2021–2023), out of 489 reported cases, approximately 19% (95 cases) occurred during the winter months of December to February.

The city emphasized that foodborne illnesses can be transmitted not only through contaminated food and water but also through contact with vomit from infected individuals or contaminated hands. As such, residents are urged to pay close attention to personal hygiene and ensure proper cleaning and disinfection practices to prevent the spread of infections.
