Incheon, a Global Korean-Friendly City, to Host Various Events for Overseas Koreans Next Year 


Incheon plans to host a variety of events next year to invite overseas Koreans, in celebration of the “2025-2026 Years of Exchange and Visits for Overseas Koreans in Incheon”. 

Incheon also plans to organize an Overseas Koreans Visiting Week along with World Korean Day on October 5th next year. 

During this period, a large-scale welcoming concert will be held where overseas Koreans and Incheon residents can come together. Additionally, welcome booths will provide multilingual tourist guides and information on attractions and transportation. 

An official from the Incheon city government stated that they aim to successfully host the “Years of Exchange and Visits for Overseas Koreans in Incheon” to lay the groundwork for Incheon’s leap forward as a “Global Top 10 City”. 





Incheon Holds Public Briefing on Basic Plan for Aging Planned Urban Areas Redevelopment 


Incheon announced that it will hold preliminary briefings for residents in areas designated as aging planned urban zones from December 4th to December 11th. 

These briefings aim to help residents better understand the Special Act on the Maintenance and Support of Aging Planned Urban Areas, which came into effect on April 27th, as well as the Aging Planned Urban Areas Redevelopment Act and the process of establishing the basic redevelopment plan. The sessions also seek to gather residents’ feedback to facilitate the smooth formulation of the plan. 

The briefings will cover the key points of the Special Act on the Maintenance of Aging Planned Urban Areas, directions for establishing the basic plan and procedures for designating special redevelopment zones and implementing projects. 

Additionally, on-site Q&A sessions will be held to actively reflect residents’ opinions in the planning process. 






Incheon Spreads Happiness Through Multicultural Family Support Programs 


Incheon has announced plans to continue offering diverse programs and inclusive services to support the stable settlement of multicultural families, who have become an important part of society. 

As of November 2023, the number of multicultural family members in Incheon stands at 85,029, accounting for 7.1% of the nationwide total of approximately 1.19 million, making it the third-highest in the country. 

The 10 district family centers used by multicultural families offer a variety of tailored programs, including practical Korean language education, bilingual classes, self-help group activities, parenting education, and child support services. 

An official from Incheon stated that they will continue to implement diverse policies that reflect the needs of multicultural families, enabling them to integrate and thrive as part of the local community in Incheon. 





Incheon Opens Emergency Medical Support Team 


The Incheon Emergency Medical Support Team officially opened its doors yesterday (December 3rd) with an inauguration ceremony at the Incheon YWCA Building in Guwol-dong, Incheon. 

The Incheon Emergency Medical Support Team will play a central role in strengthening the local emergency medical system by improving the emergency patient transport system, managing emergency medical resources, developing data-driven policies, and expanding first aid training. 

An official from Incheon stated that they expect the Emergency Medical Support Team to serve the control tower in protecting the lives and health of Incheon citizens.
