Incheon Economic Agency to Hold Emergency Meeting with Foreign-Invested Companies
The Incheon Economic Agency announced that it held an emergency meeting with foreign-invested companies in the Incheon Free Economic Zone yesterday.
The meeting was organized to resolve the anxiety of foreign-invested companies triggered by the declaration and lifting of martial law and to discuss support measures.
A total of about 30 people attended the meeting, including representatives from seven foreign-invested companies, five foreign universities within the Global Campus, and members of the Foreign Advisory Board.
In the opening remarks, Commissioner Yoon Won-seok emphasized the stabilizing situation in South Korea. And he listened closely to the challenges and realities of the industrial and the academic field faced by foreign companies and universities. He also discussed customized response strategies to support them in greater depth.
The 42nd Incheon City Cultural Awards Honoring 7 Individuals in 6 Categories.
The city of Incheon held the 42nd Incheon City Cultural Awards at the Harbor Park Hotel yesterday, honoring seven individuals across six categories for their contributions to the city's cultural development.
The Incheon City Cultural Awards are given to those who have made significant contributions to the advancement of Incheon’s culture and arts, or have helped promote Incheon through active cultural work.Since the award was established in 1982, a total of 215 cultural figures have received this honor.
This year, in addition to the traditional categories of literature, fine arts, performing arts, sports, and media, four new categories were introduced: which are ‘academic achievement, traditional arts, cultural content, and tourism’. Nominations were received from cultural organizations and institutions across all nine categories.
The Korean Association of Koryo-saram to Open Its First Office at Hambak Village.
The Korean Association of Koryo-saram, a non-profit organization representing ethnic Koreans living in South Korea, has officially opened its first office after six years of its establishment.
According to the association, the office was recently opened in Incheon’s Hambak Village, which is a key settlement area for Koryo-saram for long time, alongside other major communities such as Ansan and Gwangju.
A spokesperson for the association noted that "over 8,000 ethnic Koreans reside in Hambak Village," and expressed hope that the office will become a model for community engagement, fostering harmony and mutual interaction within the local area.
Global Big Match Will Start to Discover Asian top band, 7th December.
Incheon City and the Incheon Tourism Organization have announced that the "2nd Asian Top Band" competition will take place on December 7th at the Incheon Creative Platform.
The "Asian Top Band" is a global initiative to discover powerful musicians and it is sponsored by Incheon City and the Incheon Tourism Organization.
The event will feature representative bands from various countries. All participants will compete head-to-head and showcase their unique performances.
An official from Incheon City stated that the city will continue to host diverse global music events to promote its brand and contribute to the growth of the local economy.
