Incheon City Secures Record-High Government Subsidies of 5.8 Trillion Won
Incheon City has secured a record-high government subsidy of 5.8697 trillion won for its 2025 budget.
This represents an increase of 384.6 billion won (7.0%) compared to this year's 5.4851 trillion won.
Major projects include:
- 363 billion won for the Greater Seoul Metropolitan Area Express Railway (GTX-B)
- 79.3 billion won for the Seoul Metro Line 7 extension to Cheongra
- 35 billion won for the Incheon KTX (high-speed train)
- 23.2 billion won for Smart Village distribution and expansion
- 120.4 billion won for elderly job support programs
Incheon City Levies 121.3 Billion Won in Automobile Tax for December 2024
Incheon City has announced that it has levied and issued notices for approximately 710,000 cases of regular automobile tax totaling 121.3 billion won for December 2024.
Automobile tax is levied twice a year, in June and December, and this December's automobile tax is imposed on owners of vehicles and construction machinery registered in Incheon City as of December 1.
Detailed information can be obtained through the tax departments of district and county offices where vehicles are registered.
Incheon City Wins Local Government Accounting Award for Third Consecutive Year for Transparent Financial Management
Incheon City has won the Korean Local Government Accounting Award for the third consecutive year for its transparent financial management.
The city earned the Excellence Award in 2022, followed by the Encouragement Award in 2023, and has now received the Grand Prize this year, achieving recognition for three consecutive years.
The city earned this award for its outstanding performance in trust-based administration, strengthening accessibility and transparency of financial information, and promoting citizen participation.
A city official stated, "We will continue to meet citizens' expectations through transparent financial operations and implement fiscal policies for a better future."
Incheon City Delivers Pollack Kimchi to 200 North Korean Defector Households
Incheon City hosted a North Korean food sharing volunteer event called 'WarmthSharing in Incheon' to help North Korean defectors better communicate and settle stablyin the community.On the 14th, at the Nonhyeon 1-dong Administrative Welfare Center in Namdong-gu,the city prepared and delivered pollack kkakdugi (radish kimchi) to 200 North Koreandefector households who have settled in the area.The event was made more meaningful by the participation of about 100 people,including North Korean defectors and volunteers. Participants expressed their hope that"such sharing events will continue in the future."
