Incheon City Ranks First in South Korea's Economic Growth Rate


Incheon recorded a real economic growth rate of 4.8%, ranking first nationwide.

According to Statistics Korea and Incheon City, the '2023 Regional Income (Provisional)' estimates show that Incheon City achieved the highest real economic growth rate in the country.

This marks the second consecutive year that Incheon has ranked first nationally, significantly exceeding the national average economic growth rate of 1.4%.

Incheon's Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) in 2023 was 117 trillion won, an increase of 4 trillion won from the previous year, ranking second among metropolitan cities in terms of GRDP.






Incheon Free Economic Zone to Recruit Students for 2025 Global Center Korean Language Classes


The Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ) announced that it is recruiting students for the first term of IFEZ Global Center Korean language classes.

The registration period for Korean language classes runs from December 23 to January 1, while applications for the special Basic Korean Writing course will be accepted starting December 30.

Applications can only be submitted online through the IFEZ Global Center website (www.ifez.go.kr/global), and classes will run for approximately 3 months starting January 6.

The special Basic Korean Writing course will be held twice a week for 6 weeks.






Incheon City Partners with Korea Asset Management Corporation to Promote K-Drone Business


Incheon Metropolitan City announced that it has signed a business agreement with the Korea Asset Management Corporation (Incheon Branch) to promote the K-drone business.

Selected for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's drone demonstration city project this year, Incheon City installed drone delivery points at 10 locations, including Soya-do and Deokjeok-do, and operated island drone delivery services from late September to late November.

The project completed 189 deliveries of 258 different items, including beverages and instant noodles from Ongjin Agricultural Cooperative's Hanaro Mart, to various delivery points using drones.

This agreement follows positive responses from island residents and tourists regarding drone deliveries. The city plans to work with the Korea Asset Management Corporation to explore additional secure and efficient delivery points.






Incheon School Meal Rice 'All Clear'... Passes Safety and Quality Tests


The Incheon City government announced that all rice-supplying farms for school meals this year have passed both safety inspections and quality analysis tests.

Last month, the city conducted safety inspections and quality analysis on rice from 19 farms across 7 rice processing facilities that supply eco-friendly rice for school meals.

The test results showed no traces of pesticide residues, and the quality analysis also returned satisfactory results.

To ensure school meal safety, the city collects and tests rice samples for pesticide residues monthly. All 56 schools subject to testing this year have shown no issues.
