Incheon Celebrates Big Wave Fund's 1 Trillion Won Milestone
Incheon Metropolitan CIty reported yesterday (19th) that they hosted a performance review in Songdo to commemorate the Incheon Big Wave Fund surpassing the 1 trillion won mark.
Launched in 2021, the Incheon Big Wave Fund aimed to attract 60 billion won in investments over four years. By last year, they had already achieved an early goal of 600 billion won, and this year, they have surpassed expectations with a fund size of over 1 trillion won.
An Incheon official noted, "We will persistently encourage private investors to channel their funds into Incheon companies, with the goal of nurturing unicorn enterprises in our region.“
Incheon Shines at 54th Korea Crafts Contest with 14 Awards
The city of Incheon announced that local craft artists have achieved remarkable success in the finals of the 54th Korea Crafts Contest, achieving the best performance since 2017.
Incheon won a total of 14 awards in this competition, including one National Heritage Administration Director's Award, two Encouragement Awards, three Special Selection Awards, and eight Honorable Mentions, reaffirming its reputation as a city of crafts.
The city has supported the craft industry through various programs for craft artists, such as education and artwork consulting. This consistent effort is credited for the impressive performance in this year’s competition.
Incheon City Kicks Off Winter Pipe Protection Campaign with Kids
On December 19th, the Incheon Metropolitan City's Waterworks Headquarters, along with local children, launched a campaign in the lobby of their first floor to prevent the freezing and bursting of water pipes this winter.
This initiative aims to prevent water supply disruptions and leaks due to sudden temperature drops, while raising public interest in the waterworks project.
Children who visited the headquarters participated by lighting a Christmas tree and "a water pipe shaped to represent freeze prevention. They also joined “Hari,” Incheon’s water mascot, and took part in a mini science class to learn about the value of water and the water supply system.
IFEZ Hosts 2024 Songdo Resident Project Briefing
The IFEZ held a project briefing on the evening of the 18th at G-Tower in Songdo International City. Around 70 residents attended the event.
The briefing aimed to share the development direction and major projects of Songdo with the residents and to hear their opinions. Residents stressed the need for cultural facilities, such as second phase of Incheon Art Center, for Songdo to grow as an international city.
Commissioner 윤원석 remarked, "I remember the hopes of the citizens from our on-site meetings, and we are doing our utmost to push forward with these projects quickly.
