Monthly Settlement Support for Residents of the Five West Sea Islands to Increase by 20,000 KRW Next Year


Residents of the Five West Sea Islands near North Korea will receive an additional 20,000 KRW in their monthly settlement support starting next year.

Currently, those who have lived in the area for more than 10 years receive 160,000 KRW per month, while those who have lived there for 6 months to less than 10 years receive 100,000 KRW. From next year, these amounts will increase to 180,000 KRW and 120,000 KRW, respectively.

The annual budget for the program is approximately 8.9 billion KRW, funded by the central government (80%), Incheon City (14%), and Ongjin County (6%).

The Ministry of the Interior and Safety is working on revising the program’s guidelines to implement the increase.





Incheon to Launch ‘Mobile Local Tax Payment Notification Service’ Next Year


Starting in March next year, Incheon City will introduce a mobile notification service for local tax payments.

When the payment deadlines for regular local taxes are near, taxpayers will receive mobile notifications via KakaoTalk’s electronic document service.

The service aims to make tax payments easier for busy residents and reduce late payment penalties.

Tax details, including amounts due, will be sent to taxpayers through a KakaoTalk message linked to their registered smartphones. After verifying their identity, taxpayers can view the details and make payments quickly through a simple payment process.






Incheon Promotes City with TV Ad: ‘Travel the World Without a Passport’


Incheon City began airing a new TV advertisement nationwide today (24th) to promote the city’s charm.

The ad, based on Incheon’s vision of being “a city where citizens are happy,” captures the city’s unique appeal with vibrant imagery.

Filmed in a vlog style by a couple in their 20s, the ad shows them exploring multicultural spots in Incheon, experiencing “traveling the world without a passport” in a single day.

The ad features iconic locations such as the serene scenery of Seonjae Island, the colorful culture of Chinatown, the grandeur of Incheon Bridge, and the lively atmosphere of Triple Street, effectively showcasing the city’s exotic attractions.






Incheon Modern Literature Museum Opens Special Exhibition on ‘Dakkeon Novels’


The Incheon Modern Literature Museum, under the Incheon Foundation for Arts & Culture, has launched a special exhibition titled An Invitation to 100 Years Ago: Immersed in Dakjeobon Novels. The exhibition runs from today (24th) to May 25 next year.

The exhibit features approximately 200 Dakjeobon (pulp fiction-style) novels from the museum’s collection, divided into 7 sections on the first floor and another 7 on the second floor.

Visitors can view various types of Dakjeobon novels and enjoy the intricate and colorful designs of their covers.

The exhibition is open from Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and admission is free.
