Incheon Ferries Anticipate More Passengers This Lunar New Year 


Coastal ferry services connecting Incheon’s islands to the mainland are expected to be busier this Lunar New Year holiday. 

The Incheon Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries forecasts approximately 30,800 passengers, a 2% rise from the five-year average. 

The peak days are predicted to be January 28 and 29, with around 4,500 passengers each. To meet the demand, ferry services will increase by 70 trips, from 560 to 630.





Airport Railroad to Extend Services for Lunar New Year


The Airport Railroad has unveiled special measures to ease travel for passengers during the Lunar New Year. 

From January 29 to 30, an extra train will operate from Incheon Airport Terminal 2 Station and Seoul Station. 

Furthermore, last train services will be extended, with the last train from Incheon Airport Terminal 2 Station departing at 1:15 AM, and from Seoul Station at 1:05 AM. 

Trains will follow the weekday timetable on January 27, a designated temporary holiday.





Incheon Continues Injury Insurance for Young Soldiers in 2025


Incheon Metropolitan City has confirmed the continuation of its injury insurance support program for young soldiers in 2025. 

Launched in March 2024, this initiative has eased the psychological and financial burdens on soldiers and their families, earning positive feedback. 

The support will cover active-duty soldiers registered in Incheon. Upon starting their service, they are automatically enrolled in the insurance, which provides coverage for 11 items, including injury-related death, disability, and daily hospitalization during military service, including vacations.





Incheon City Opens Applications for Gender Equality Fund Projects


Incheon Metropolitan City is inviting applications for the "2025 Gender Equality Fund Support Project" from January 23 to February 11. 

The project categories for this year include promoting gender equality culture, enhancing women's rights, projects related to Gender Equality Week, and awareness campaigns on low birth rates and aging populations. 

The fund totals 70 million won, with about 10 million won available per project. 

Non-profit organizations, corporations, universities, and research institutes in Incheon are eligible to apply.
