Airport Railroad to Extend Services for Lunar New Year


The Airport Railroad has unveiled special measures to ease travel for passengers during the Lunar New Year. 

From January 29 to 30, an extra train will operate from Incheon Airport Terminal 2 Station and Seoul Station. 

Furthermore, last train services will be extended, with the last train from Incheon Airport Terminal 2 Station departing at 1:15 AM, and from Seoul Station at 1:05 AM. 

Trains will follow the weekday timetable on January 27, a designated temporary holiday.





Incheon to Bring Spring Wildfire Prevention Headquarters into Full Swing


Incheon Metropolitan City has announced that it will launch full-scale wildfire prevention activities from January 24 to May 15, marking the wildfire caution period.

Last year, Incheon experienced nine wildfires, affecting an area of 1.1 hectares, equivalent to 1.5 soccer fields. This is a decrease of two incidents and 22.91 hectares in damage compared to the previous year. 

However, Incheon has decided to adopt even more stringent measures to prevent spring wildfires.

In response, Incheon Metropolitan City has established a comprehensive wildfire prevention plan, aiming to protect citizens' property and lives while preserving forest resources.






Incheon Enhances Inter-Agency Cooperation to Tackle Crop Pests


On January 23, the Incheon Agricultural Technology Center hosted a council meeting focused on early intervention and strengthening partnerships among local institutions to combat crop pests.

The council, which addresses the prevention of both common and foreign pest outbreaks, provided updates on pest trends, discussed major control initiatives, and conducted training sessions on pest management practices.

An Agricultural Technology Center representative stated, "The increase in pest incidents and the severe influx of foreign pests due to last year's prolonged heatwave and abnormal weather underscore the need for comprehensive pest monitoring and control to maintain stable agricultural output."





Incheon Research Institute Publishes 'Unsung Heroes of Incheon International Airport's Opening'


The Incheon Institute has released the first book in its series, 'Memories of Incheon's Leap into the 21st Century,' titled 'The People Who Opened the Sky - The Unsung Heroes of Incheon International Airport's Opening.'

This series is part of Incheon Institute's efforts to systematically document the city's development and transformation, highlighting key figures who played crucial roles in the process. It aims to reflect on Incheon's history and identity while exploring future directions.

The first volume, unveiled in January 2025, focuses on the opening of Incheon International Airport, a national gateway and a symbol of Incheon's international progress. It narrates the construction and development journey in a storytelling format.
