Bird Detection Radar Installation Planned for Baengnyeong Airport
A bird detection radar system is expected to be installed at Incheon's Baengnyeong Airport, which is being constructed on the northernmost island in the West Sea.
The government has introduced this preventive measure after concerns were raised about the possibility of bird strikes, as bird habitats are known to exist near the Baengnyeong Airport.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced that it will actively incorporate the installation of bird detection radar systems in the construction plans for new airports, including Baengnyeong Airport.
