Walking Together: Health and Benefits Grow! Incheon City Launches Walking Challenge
The Incheon Metropolitan City announced that it will officially launch the 'Incheon 3.6.9. Walking' challenge as a new initiative this year to promote voluntary physical activity and health improvement among citizens.
'Incheon 3.6.9. Walking' will operate by providing incentives to citizens who achieve their target step count using the mobile application 'WalkOn'.
Through this, Incheon City aims to create a walking boom and encourage walking as part of daily life.
'Incheon 3.6.9. Walking' will be conducted over a total of three periods - March, June, and September - with each period lasting two months.
Agricultural Food Voucher Support Program Expands Nationwide! Incheon City Actively Supports
Incheon Metropolitan City will provide support for the '2025 Agricultural Food Voucher' program from March to December, targeting households receiving livelihood benefits that include pregnant women, infants, and children, to establish an agricultural food consumption system.
Until last year, the program was implemented only in Ongjin-gun, supporting 680 households. However, from this year, with the addition of 8 counties and districts (excluding Michuhol District), the number of eligible households has significantly expanded to approximately 5,900.
The support will be provided monthly from March to December and will be loaded onto agricultural food voucher cards.
The amount varies according to household size, with single-person households receiving 40,000 won per month and four-person households receiving 100,000 won per month.
Incheon City Supports Employment Insurance Premiums for Solo Self-Employed... Promoting Stability for Small Business Owners
Incheon Metropolitan City is actively launching the 'Employment Insurance Premium Support Project for Solo Self-Employed' as a new initiative to strengthen the social safety net and promote business stability for local small business owners.
To this end, Incheon City has signed a business agreement with the Korea Workers' Compensation & Welfare Service and the Incheon Credit Guarantee Foundation.
Through this agreement, the city plans to reduce the burden of employment insurance premiums for small business owners and eliminate insurance blind spots, thereby promoting integration into the social safety net system and contributing to the business stability of local small business owners.
This support project will be fully implemented from March this year, with retroactive application starting from January 2025 payments.
Yang Jung-uk, 9th Batch (2018) Resident Artist of Incheon Art Platform, Wins MMCA's '2024 Artist of the Year Award'
Yang Jung-uk, who was a 9th batch resident artist at Incheon Art Platform, has been selected as the final winner of the 'Artist of the Year 2024' award, jointly organized by the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA) and the SBS Culture Foundation.
Artist Yang Jung-uk creates moving sculptures that convey warm stories, expressing his vision of life through his work.
Visitors can see Yang Jung-uk's work "When Thinking of Young Time" at the central plaza of Incheon Art Platform.
