Incheon City Donates 200 Million Won in Support to Wildfire-Affected Areas
Incheon Metropolitan City will donate 200 million won to the Korean Red Cross to support the rapid recovery of areas affected by large-scale wildfires in Ulsan, Gyeongbuk, and Gyeongnam.
This donation aims to assist in the recovery of the affected areas in the Yeongnam region and provide support to displaced residents facing hardships.
Incheon plans to deliver the disaster relief funds through the Korean Red Cross to actively assist the affected residents in restoring their daily lives.
Incheon City Creates Safe and Healthy Spaces for Children to Breathe Freely
To foster an environment where children can grow up healthy and safe, Incheon Metropolitan City is launching an environmental disease prevention project from March to November, focusing on local children's centers among children's activity spaces.
A "children's activity space" refers to locations primarily used or frequented by children under the age of 13, such as playgrounds, daycare centers, kids' cafes, and local children's centers.
The project provides support for measuring environmental safety standards in local children's centers in collaboration with the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute to prevent potential hazards and creates an improved indoor environment by installing air purifiers and replacing eco-friendly finishing materials for facilities that need improvement.
Incheon International Half Marathon to Be Held on the 30th
Incheon Metropolitan City has announced that the 25th Incheon International Half Marathon will take place at Incheon Munhak Stadium and Songdo International City on the 30th.
The event is co-hosted by Incheon Ilbo and the Korea Association of Athletics Federations, co-organized by the Incheon Marathon Organizing Committee and the Incheon Athletics Federation, and sponsored by Incheon City, the Incheon Metropolitan Council, and the Incheon Sports Council.
The race is expected to attract around 15,000 participants from five countries, and will be held in three categories: half marathon, 10 km, and 5 km.
On the day of the event, from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM, traffic control will be implemented at key sections of the marathon route, including from Munhak Stadium to the Seonhak Station intersection, the Sinyeonsu Station intersection, the Dongchun Station intersection, the Technopark Station intersection, and the Haian Choso intersection.
Dongincheon Art Cube to Begin Full Operations This Year
Incheon Metropolitan City will launch the ‘Dongincheon Art Cube’ project in 2025, starting with the first performance on March 29, themed ‘Spring, A New Beginning in Art.’
Dongincheon Art Cube, commissioned and operated by the Incheon Tourism Organization, was established in 2023 to transform the northern square of Dongincheon Station into a cultural venue that fosters both art and civic participation.
This year, to ensure stable operation, Dongincheon Art Cube will feature regular performances on the last Saturday of every month, along with special performances for holidays. Additionally, the project will expand collaborative performances, including the ‘Yogi JoGi Concert’ and traveling cultural performances.
