Incheon City Presents Traditional Korean Music Performances to Citizens
Incheon Metropolitan City announced that it will hold the '2025 So Geum (Communicating Friday) Korean Traditional Music Concert' four times at the Incheon Korean Traditional Music Hall.
This year marks the third iteration of this special event, which combines traditional Korean music performances with humanities lectures. Beginning with its first stage on April 25, the event focuses on communicating with citizens and promoting the beauty and value of Incheon's traditional music.
The performances will feature master singers and traditional musicians from Incheon, showcasing diverse stages.
Incheon City Provides Citizens with Opportunity to Experience Performing in Musicals
Incheon Metropolitan City announced that it is recruiting participants for the second term of 'MUSICAL with ME,' a musical experience program operated by the Munhak Theater under the Incheon Federation of Arts and Culture Organizations.
This program is a practical, experiential education course that offers citizens who dream of performing in musicals the chance to appear on stage, running for a total of 10 weeks.
Following the enthusiastic response from citizens during last year's first term, this year the program plans to select a total of 15 participants. Any Incheon citizen aged 18 or older can apply, and participation is completely free of charge.
Incheon Michuhol Library Acquires Web Accessibility Quality Certification Mark
Incheon Metropolitan City's Michuhol Library has acquired the "Information and Communication Accessibility Quality Certification Mark" from the Ministry of Science and ICT after significantly improving its website environment to ensure that all citizens can use library services without discrimination.
In January, Michuhol Library completely revamped the websites of its main library and five branch libraries—Cheongna Lake, Cheongna International, Yeongjong Sky, Majeon, and Songdo International Organizations—for the first time since 2019 to enhance information accessibility for citizens and provide more diverse cultural and educational services.
This website renovation not only incorporated book information support functions reflecting the operational characteristics of each library but also emphasized brand value through independent websites with library-specific slogans, colors, and designs.
Classic Film Music Reborn as Jazz!
The second stage of the Coffee Concert series for the first half of 2025 will be held on Wednesday, April 16th at 2 PM at the Donggu Culture and Sports Center.
This performance features saxophonist Shin Hyun-pil and pianist Ko Hee-an, representatives of Korean jazz, presenting a special stage where they reinterpret classic film music through jazz.
The audience will be treated to sensational jazz renditions of timeless soundtracks from classics such as 'Some Like It Hot' (1959), 'West Side Story' (1961), and 'The Italian Job' (1969).
