Incheon announced yesterday that five prominent actors—Song Ok-sook, Son Byung-ho, Lee Il-hwa, Ye Ji-won, and Jang Young-nam—have been appointed as official promotional ambassadors for the 43rd Korea Theater Festival, which will be held in Incheon this July.

The newly appointed ambassadors are skilled performers who have long been active on the theatrical stage, widely recognized for both their talent and dedication. 






Incheon Sees 27% Drop in Fine Dust Levels Through Seasonal Management Program


The Incheon announced that during the 6th Seasonal Fine Dust Management Program, conducted from December of last year through the end of March, the concentration of ultrafine dust (PM-2.5) dropped by approximately 27% compared to the same period prior to the program’s implementation.

This marks the lowest level recorded since the program was first introduced in 2019.







Incheon Urges Caution Amid Global Measles Outbreak


Incheon is urging citizens to remain vigilant as the global spread of measles continues, significantly raising the risk of infection during overseas travel. The city advises residents who have visited countries experiencing measles outbreaks* and develop suspected symptoms to promptly seek medical attention and actively cooperate with efforts to prevent further transmission.

Following the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of international travelers has increased, and with it, global measles cases have also risen. In particular, Southeast Asia continues to report ongoing outbreaks.







89-Year-Old Among Passers as Incheon Office of Education Announces First GED Results of the Year


The Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education announced yesterday, the 8th, the results of this year’s first School qualification examinations.

According to the results from the exam held on April 5, 203 out of 223 elementary-level examinees passed, marking a pass rate of 91 percent. At the middle school level, 330 out of 399 passed (82.7 percent), and at the high school level, 1,167 out of 1,472 examinees passed (79.3 percent).

An official from the Office of Education stated that certificates of passing can be issued at the city or district education offices’ civil service counters, at administrative offices of individual schools, or online through the Government24 portal.






The Incheon Tourism Organization’s Incheon Sangsang Tour Turns Local Students’ Tourism Dreams into Reality


The Incheon Sangsang Tour, a joint initiative by the Incheon Tourism Organization and the Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education, is receiving an enthusiastic response as it offers middle and high school students in the region valuable opportunities to explore careers in the tourism industry.

According to the Incheon Tourism Organization, the program will run 25 sessions in total through December 17 this year. This year, 721 students from 24 schools have signed up for the program. 







Incheon Transit Corporation Strengthens Escalator Safety Inspections to Ensure Public Safety


Following a recent escalator handrail malfunction accident at Bupyeong Station, the Incheon Transit Corporation has launched a special safety inspection of all 614 escalators installed across Incheon Subway Lines 1, 2, and 7.

The corporation announced that from today through June 13, it will conduct intensive inspections focusing specifically on the installation and operational condition.
