Incheon City's Emergency Patient Transport and Childbirth Environment Improvement Policies Selected as Outstanding Examples


Incheon City's policies for improving emergency patient transport and childbirth environment have been selected as outstanding examples in the citizen evaluation category of the Joint Evaluation of Local Governments conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.

Incheon City announced that both of their submissions were selected as outstanding examples in the citizen evaluation category of the "2025 Joint Evaluation of Local Governments," making them the only city-level government to achieve this distinction.

For this evaluation, the city submitted cases with high public impact: △Improvement of emergency patient transport and acceptance systems, and △Creation of pregnancy and childbirth-friendly environments, both of which were selected as outstanding examples.







Incheon City Strengthens Local Safety Network with Real-time Safety Education for Seniors


Incheon Metropolitan City has announced that it will conduct real-time safety education to strengthen seniors' safety competency as part of its Smart Senior Center construction project. The education will be held over two days, May 15th and 22nd.

This educational initiative focuses on helping seniors effectively respond to various crisis situations they may encounter in daily life by utilizing the Smart Senior Center system, which incorporates digital technology.

The training will be directly conducted by three disaster safety expert instructors at the Smart Senior Center studio and simultaneously broadcast live to 100 Smart Senior Centers throughout Incheon City.

The program is designed to enable seniors to participate in education through two-way video systems, allowing them to communicate with instructors in real-time from their respective senior centers, creating an immersive learning experience.






Incheon City Council Holds Policy Discussion on Small-scale Housing Maintenance


The Construction and Transportation Committee of Incheon Metropolitan City Council recently held a policy discussion titled "Small-scale Housing Maintenance, the Beginning of a Big Change."

About 40 people, including Incheon City officials and citizens, attended the meeting to discuss the development direction of Incheon's small-scale housing maintenance projects, expansion of management areas, and measures to strengthen effectiveness.

Currently, Incheon City has 267 small-scale housing maintenance projects, but only three areas have been designated as management zones: Ganseok-dong in Namdong-gu, Sipjeong-dong in Bupyeong-gu, and Gajeong-dong in Seo-gu. This situation has raised the need to expand management areas and improve project effectiveness.

Citizens who participated emphasized the necessity of systematic maintenance of areas with concentrated old housing and the need to improve inefficient regulations applied to small-scale housing maintenance projects.






Incheon Namdong-gu Installs Air Circulators in Two Daycare Centers


Namdong-gu, Incheon has announced that it has installed window-type air circulators in two daycare centers located in the fine dust intensive management zones of Nonhyeon 2-dong and Nonhyeon Gojan-dong.

Fine dust intensive management zones are areas recognized as having serious fine dust pollution and concentrated with facilities primarily used by vulnerable populations such as the elderly and children.

In 2023, as its first support project, Namdong-gu installed fine dust absorption mats at the entrances of 12 facilities including postpartum care centers. In 2024, it installed smart air showers at two medical welfare facilities and hospitals for the elderly. This year, the district has installed window-attached air circulators in two daycare centers to protect the health of vulnerable populations and improve indoor air quality.






Incheon Superintendent of Education Do Seong-hun Holds Discussion with Staff at Cheomdan Elementary School in 'Superintendent's Visit' Initiative


Incheon Superintendent of Education Do Seong-hun recently visited Incheon Cheomdan Elementary School for a discussion with school staff about current issues, his office announced.

The meeting was part of the "Superintendent's Visit" field initiative, designed to identify problems difficult to resolve at the school level and to seek prompt support measures.

Staff members at Cheomdan Elementary communicated current concerns including additional staffing based on school size, expansion of student emotional support, and improvements to student safety facilities.
