Incheon City to Recruit Tenants for Another 500 “1,000-Won Housing” Units


In a continued effort to support stable housing for newlyweds and families with newborns, Incheon Metropolitan City has launched its second round this year of tenant recruitment for 500 “1,000-won housing” units, following the first round in March.

Starting today, Incheon is accepting applications for the “1,000-won housing” program at the City Hall’s central hall. As part of the city’s housing policy, this rental program offers units at a cost of just 1,000 won per day, or 30,000 won per month.

Eligible applicants include newlyweds married within the past seven years, engaged couples, and families with newborns. Final tenant selection will follow priority criteria based on applicant type.







Incheon City Holds Opening Ceremony for New Dormitory at Return-to-Fishing School


The Incheon Fisheries Technology Support Center announced that it held a nameplate unveiling ceremony for the new dormitory at the Incheon Return-to-Fishing School ahead of its official operation.

The new dormitory, built as a three-story facility with a total budget of 1.991 billion, is designed to provide a structured learning environment for trainees.

The facility includes classrooms, duty rooms, dorm rooms, and lounges, offering trainees a comfortable setting for education.







Incheon Global Campus Dormitory Expansion Project Back on Track


The dormitory expansion project at Incheon Global Campus (IGC), which faced delays due to increased construction costs, is now moving forward in earnest.

IFEZ announced that it will invest 44.7 billion to build an additional dormitory at IGC, with completion targeted for 2027.

The new dormitory will have one basement floor and ten above-ground floors, with a total floor area of 8,425 square meters. It will house 202 rooms, accommodating up to 400 students.







IFEZ Conducts Safety Inspection at IGC Dormitory Construction Site


IFEZ, in cooperation with the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (KOSHA), has conducted a joint safety inspection at the IGC dormitory construction site.

The dormitory project, directly commissioned by IFEZ, began construction in February this year and aims for completion in the first quarter of 2027.

IFEZ plans to conduct similar joint inspections with KOSHA at 15 construction sites across the Incheon Free Economic Zone by the end of this month.







Incheon International Ocean Forum to Feature Jeremy Rifkin as Keynote Speaker


World-renowned futurist Jeremy Rifkin has been confirmed as the keynote speaker for the 6th Incheon International Ocean Forum (IIOF 2025), the largest maritime business forum in the Seoul metropolitan area.

The Incheon Port Authority (IPA) announced that the forum will be held on July 3rd to 4th at Songdo Convensia, with Rifkin delivering a keynote address aligned with the forum’s main theme.

As the chairman of the Foundation on Economic Trends (FOET) in Washington, D.C., Rifkin has advised major global players such as the EU and China on energy transition policies. At the forum, he will highlight the strategic value of the oceans and present actionable directions for the international community.






ncheon Police Launch 24-Hour Election Security Command Center Ahead of Presidential Election


The Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency announced the launch of a 24-hour integrated election security command center in preparation for the 21st presidential election.

Command centers have been set up at the main agency and all 10 district police stations and will operate continuously from the start of the campaign period until the end of ballot counting on June 4th.

The centers will oversee all election-related security operations, including managing street campaigns, ballot transport, and polling station security. On election day, the agency plans to implement its highest emergency alert level, “Level A,” starting at 6 a.m.







Incheon Office of Education Opens Parent Registration for High School Credit System Workshop


To help parents support their children’s academic planning under the high school credit system, the Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education will hold a training session for parents on June 16th.

The session will provide insights on university admissions, subject selection strategies, and an overview of high school curricula to help parents assist with student career planning.

Parents can register online until May 22nd.






Incheon Office of Education Publishes Guide to 2022 Revised Curriculum


The Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education has released a guidebook on the 2022 Revised National Curriculum, which will be applied to first-year high school students beginning in 2025.

The guide includes explanations of required and elective subjects, curriculum structuring methods, subject unit calculations, and an overview of the 2028 university admissions process.

It also provides instructions on how to view curriculum organization charts for each high school in Incheon, supporting students, parents, and teachers in personalized subject selection and academic planning. The guide is available on the office’s website and as an e-book.
