The 2025 Future Leaders’ Conference to Be Held in Songdo


The 2025 Future Leaders’ Conference, hosted by the Overseas Koreans Agency and supported by Incheon City, will be held at Songdo Convensia from May 27 to 30, 2025.

The conference will bring together 66 next-generation Korean American leaders, aged 25 to 45, nominated by embassies in 26 countries worldwide.

The event is expected to serve as a meaningful platform for exploring Korea’s future and promoting policies and best practices to strengthen the global Korean American network.








Incheon Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok Inspects Water Treatment Facilities Ahead of Summer Season


On May 28, Incheon Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok visited major sewage and water treatment facilities in Namdong-gu to review progress on ensuring safe water quality during the summer and establishing a stable tap water supply system.

During the visit, Mayor Yoo was briefed on operational plans and trial runs, and offered words of encouragement to staff after touring the sites.

Incheon City is implementing its ‘Summer Water Supply Plan’ from May 15 to October 15.

The measures include flexible adjustment of water production, expanded bottled water support for island regions, strengthened water quality inspections, and round-the-clock emergency recovery teams to respond swiftly to any water quality issues during the summer months.







Incheon City Opens Hospital-Based Wee Center


The Incheon Metropolitan City Office of Education has opened a hospital-based Wee Center at Incheon Cham Sarang Hospital to support students experiencing emotional and behavioral crises.

Officially named Cham Sarang Dodam School, the center is an integrated institution that offers both inpatient treatment and alternative education for students at high risk of mental health issues.

The facility can accommodate up to 16 middle and high school students, including 4 for emergency admissions and 12 for extended inpatient care. It provides therapeutic and educational programs tailored to each student’s individual needs.

The education office will cover treatment costs of up to 6 million won per student and offer follow-up care for three months after discharge through mental health professionals.








Incheon Metropolitan City Office of Education Allocates 5.5143 Trillion Won in First Supplementary Budget for 2025


The Incheon Metropolitan City Office of Education has drafted its first supplementary budget for 2025 totaling 5.5143 trillion won, an increase of 216.8 billion won (4.1%) compared to the original budget.

This adjustment was made possible by an increase of 105.2 billion won in central government transfers and 119.4 billion won in internal transactions.

The education office prioritized funding for personnel expenses and school construction and expansion, while reducing budgets for projects unlikely to be completed within the year.







Yeonsu-gu in Incheon Appoints Local Tax Review Committee Members


Yeonsu-gu in Incheon has appointed members to its newly formed Local Tax Review Committee.

The committee consists of 14 members, including 11 external experts such as tax accountants, certified public accountants, and appraisers with expertise in local taxation and 3 internal members, including the Director of Planning and Economy.

Serving a two-year term until March 31, 2027, the committee will deliberate and make decisions on matters related to tax objections and reductions. It aims to ensure fairness in local taxation and protect taxpayer rights.






Seo-gu in Incheon Launches ‘Cultural Delivery’ Program for Underserved Areas


Seo-gu in Incheon, in collaboration with the Seo-gu Cultural Foundation, has officially launched the ‘2025 Seo-gu Cultural Delivery’ program.

This initiative brings live performances directly to areas with limited access to cultural infrastructure, aiming to expand cultural opportunities for residents. Operated by the Seo-gu Cultural Foundation, the program is part of the district’s efforts to promote cultural inclusion.

The 2025 program will feature busking performances to increase accessibility across more neighborhoods.

Local artists selected through open recruitment will participate in the project and present high-quality performances in various genres.
