IFEZ to Host International Symposium on AI-Based Aviation Innovation


The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority (IFEZ) will host the ‘2025 Innovation Growth Platform’ on June 4 at the Arirang Hall of Gyeongwonjae to discuss AI-based aviation innovation and smart city integration.

Marking its inaugural edition this year, the event is designed to explore the future direction of global aviation innovation, including AI-based aviation technologies and smart city strategies.

IFEZ plans to use the symposium as a springboard to promote concrete models of cooperation, such as joint research initiatives, business partnerships, and talent exchange programs.







Incheon City Launches Intensive Management for High Ozone Season


Incheon Metropolitan City has implemented intensive management measures for the high-ozone summer season, when ozone levels typically rise, and urged citizens to take extra precautions to protect their health.

High concentrations of ozone can cause respiratory and lung damage, irritate sensory organs such as the eyes and nose, and hinder plant growth ultimately reducing crop yields and negatively affecting both human health and the ecosystem.

Since ozone exists in a gaseous state, it cannot be effectively blocked by masks. The city emphasized that vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, and individuals with respiratory conditions may be particularly affected and should take special care.








Incheon City to Disburse Maturity Funds for Happy Seed Account


A total of 185 young adults with developmental disabilities who began saving under the Happy Seed Account program in May 2022 will receive their full maturity payments this month after completing the three-year savings period.

The Happy Seed Account for Young Adults with Developmental Disabilities is a program that Incheon City has been promoting since 2021 to support the financial independence of young adults with developmental disabilities.

Eligible participants those aged 16 to 39 from households earning less than 100% of the national median income deposit 150,000 won monthly for three years. Matching contributions from the city and district governments double the amount to a total of 300,000 won per month.

The participants who will receive a total of 10.8 million won, consisting of 5.4 million won in personal savings and 5.4 million won in matching funds, plus interest.







Incheon City Conducts Training to Strengthen Disaster Mental Health Response


Incheon Metropolitan City conducted a training session on May 28 for disaster mental health response personnel, including staff from local mental health welfare centers and addiction management centers. The training focused on enhancing rapid and effective mental health responses in the early stages of a disaster through Psychological First Aid (PFA).

PFA refers to the practice of recognizing various psychological responses triggered by unexpected trauma during disasters, empathizing with survivors, and providing practical, immediate support.

Participants found the session highly beneficial, noting that it helped them develop concrete skills for psychological stabilization and intervention in disaster settings, while also deepening their understanding of mental health support in crisis situations.







Dong-gu in Incheon to Install More LED Safety Lights at School Zone Crosswalks


Dong-gu in Incheon is moving forward with the installation of additional ‘LED safety lights’ at crosswalks in areas with high volumes of child pedestrians.

These safety lights are recessed LED road markers placed at regular intervals along both sides of crosswalks. They help drivers more easily recognize the crosswalks from a distance and slow down accordingly.

Over the past year, the district has already installed safety lights at 54 crosswalks in child protection zones in two phases. The initiative has contributed to reducing traffic accidents involving children.
