President Lee Jae-myung's term begins at 6:21 a.m., with military command authority transferred automatically


President Lee Jae-myung officially began his term as the 21st president of South Korea at 6:21 a.m. today.The National Election Commission held a full committee meeting this morning and officially confirmed Lee, the Democratic Party candidate, as the winner of the presidential election.All presidential powers, including command over the armed forces, were automatically transferred to President Lee from former Acting President and Education Minister Lee Ju-ho at the moment his term began.President Lee secured victory with 49.42% of the vote, totaling 17,287,513 ballots.






Art Center Incheon presents a spectacular June lineup with Cho Seong-jin and the New York Philharmonic


World-renowned pianist Cho Seong-jin returns to the Art Center Incheon stage for a recital after four years, while the legendary New York Philharmonic joins forces with pianist Krystian Zimerman under the baton of Esa-Pekka Salonen for a truly exceptional performance.

Cho Seong-jin’s recital will be held on June 12.On June 26, the New York Philharmonic, one of the world’s premier orchestras, will perform at Art Center Incheon.

Incheon expands installation of smart crosswalks for pedestrian safety


Incheon Metropolitan City has expanded its installation of “smart crosswalks” to create a safer, pedestrian-focused traffic environment.From 2021 to 2024, the city installed 234 smart crosswalks in school zones and areas with frequent pedestrian accidents.This year, ground-level pedestrian signals were installed at 11 locations across three major intersections, including Jakjeon Station Intersection.

Through this project, the city expects to further enhance pedestrian-centered infrastructure and effectively prevent accidents caused by distracted pedestrians using smartphones.







Incheon begins recruiting 140 volunteers for the 2025 APEC international meetings


Incheon Metropolitan City has begun preparations for the successful hosting of the 2025 APEC International Meetings and is now recruiting 140 citizen volunteers to support the event.

The meetings will take place from July 26 to August 15 at Songdo Convensia and will include the 3rd APEC Senior Officials’ Meeting, along with key ministerial conferences on digital affairs, food security, women’s economic participation, and anti-corruption cooperation.

Volunteer applications will be accepted from 9 a.m. on June 9 to 6 p.m. on June 18.Interested applicants can download the application form from the Incheon Volunteer Center website and apply via email.







Former pro volleyball coach Choi Tae-woong has been named promotional ambassador for Incheon education.


The Incheon Metropolitan City Office of Education has appointed Choi Tae-woong, current youth director of the Korea Volleyball Association and former head coach of the Cheonan Hyundai Capital Skywalkers, as its promotional ambassador.

Born and raised in Incheon, Choi graduated from Ju-an Elementary School, Inha University Middle School, and Inha University High School. He played as a national team member before moving on to coaching, where he achieved outstanding success.

The Office of Education has led various sports education initiatives, including the "1 School, 1 Student, 1 Sport" program. It hopes this appointment will further energize efforts to expand school sports and promote the city’s sports culture.






Incheon City is providing full-scale support for small exporters to expand overseas.


Incheon City is launching a range of support programs to strengthen the competitiveness of small exporting companies.

The city will provide financial assistance for individual export insurance and guarantees, as well as group insurance, for companies based in Incheon with annual exports of less than 20 million U.S. dollars.

Export guarantees will be supported up to one million won per company, and group insurance up to around 290,000 won.
